Cost? If a teenager could afford a MacBook then a Teenager could afford a iPad.

Well from my experience I've seen a lot of people my age (17-18) with iPads...

Nope, the MacBook comparison was a matter of functionality. Most teenagers (or people in school) will be better served with a MB rather than an iPad. Try writing an essay on your iPad or creating a powerPoint presentation.

And I doubt that MANY teenagers aged 17-18 have an iPad. I wouldn't say a lot of any aged people have iPads....really they aren't nearly as common as a smartphone or laptop. Come on now.

Honestly, the functionality of an iPad for a student really isn't great and realistically most teenagers can not afford to buy both a laptop and a smartphone and an iPad. Some can, but MOST can't.

and good luck taking notes in a high school class with an iPad. Not very likely either.

I also know many 15-20 year olds with iPads and I know most of them will be using it for school. Yes there are many people who can't afford all three of those but there are just as many that can.

Well technically you can write your Essay and create a Keynote on an iPad but you don't have to. If you have a laptop at home you can use that, the way I would be using my iPad at school would just be for notes and recording class's and so on. Which is also very easy with applications such as CourseNotes. Then doing the bigger things like Essays and Keynotes on my laptop.

I've done that when I was in HS. My teachers let me.

There's like 15 people I know back in my HS with iPads

I really am not try to argue too much...it was just my opinion so take it as you will.

I have to say that if you have 15 kids at your school with iPads I am surprised but I also guess it depends on where you're from and the demographics.

I find laptops are just starting to become popular for kids in HS (in my area) to use in class (many have them at home and such but few use them at school) so a jump to an ipad will be interesting to see.

I assume your high school has over 1,000 kids at it so saying 15-16 have them still isn't considered MANY. But I'm sure thats bound to change.
