I sold my black iphone4 for 700.00 and now waiting for the white to show.I wish I could preorder already so I don't have to constantly check for updates from Apple. Even knowing just the date when preorders start would give me some peace of mind.

White Iphone 4; Around July 17th???

Really looking forward to the White version being released.
I have kind of resigned to the fact that I will be unable to buy the Black iPhone 4 for at least the next 3 weeks (as per the Apple website and the fact that I have no Apple store near me really). Even making the (lengthy) trip to an Apple store could prove to be a waste of time given the stock shortages.
I think it just makes sense to wait for the white version personally, as I would be waiting anyway for the black.
Does anyone have a link to those engadget high quality pics of the White iPhone 4 at WWDC? Can't seem to locate them on their site - I remember thinking to myself from them that the White is worth the wait.

I am with you...I had a pre order in the first day at 8 AM from Premier....needless to say it was a horrible experience and I canceled, A. because I want to order directly from Apple, and B. I really wanted the White one...so it was the right decision to be patient.

Thing is everyone is saying that Apple won't release the white one until after 30 days of the original launch to avoid those originally wanting white but bought black to change the black for a white.
But what about those who are getting their black in the next shipment, or even getting one this week? They'll still be eligible for the 30 day return so to be honest Apple cannot avoid black owners changing for a white one.
So with this in mind... hopefully they just hurry and bring the white out rather than wait another 30days...

Hopefully it won't be too long... I went into Regent St today and saw the 4 for the first time and had a play, loving the camera quality... and I really want one NOW!!!

Actually they can. They don't have to honor someone who just walks in and says I want white instead of black.
In order to trade, the person will have to cancel their current contract and start another one. But who knows how long it will take AT&T to reinstate their upgrade eligibility (definitely won't be instantaneously). Could be more than a week until they can purchase a subsidized phone again.
I think once the next pending shipments are actually shipped they should then put the pre order up for the white iphones....if you go on apple right now and get a phone apple says it wont ship untill 3 weeks....3 weeks from today is July 20...2nd half of July???...I THINK SO! ! !
Apple changed the shipping estimates on the 24th. 3 weeks after the 24 is July 15 (The start of the 2nd half of July), probably the earliest one can expect a White iPhone, but it will probably be at a later date.
Rumor has it that the iPhone 4 will be released July 23 in Canada and other countries that had to wait for the second wave. Quite possible that the black and white will be made available I would assume, so that the white launches in 20 odd countries on the same day.
