SOLVED: It's some type of black factory particulate! Got it removed using female nails in the border area!!! Men fingernails should work also...

White iPhone 4S: Anyone else w/ a black scratch (incomplete paint?) under front glass on the side next to the band that is on top of the mute switch? Mine is 1mm and there is another one on the border on the back. Just want to know if it's just mine or all of the white ones have them? TIA

Picture on POST #4

No one has a white 4S that can tell me about their paint job under the glass screens?

Could you post a pic so we can see what it looks like?
Here it is: (I might be nitpicking, but I want to know if other white ones have them too  ) It's under the glass...

Meh, It's not really noticable unless you look directly at it.

That's not what I'm asking though ;)

Once you see it you will always see it since it's black on white and is on the front @ at the top...

Dont have one there., have a little bit of paint missing next to the camera on the back. I don't notice it unless I look right up close, and I'm not likely to do that very often anyway.

I had posted about this yesterday. I have one dent like gee impression in the bottom left corner and I also have another in the top right which is about 5mm by 2mm in depth. You can check out my photos in my post if you like.

I predict you will go through several phones before you are happy. If you would have got black, you would never see this.

I have someone's eyelash under my backplate! It doesn't bother me, and I know going to Apple (which is 45 minutes away) for something so stupid this close to release won't get me anywhere. I might wait a while and see if it ever irks me enough to care.

But under the backplate - near the metallic Apple - there is an eyelash clearly under the glass. It's kind of funny. :D

I didn't say I was gonna return it because of this; No OCPD over here :)

Just wanted to know if I was the only one or not; since we all know how problematic has been for :apple: to give us white under glass; this might be a more realistic cause than the shadings of white that MR has told us about.

I don't have that. Defect!! Lol

I think he has a right to be upset about it, I mean yes it's extremely extremely small but when you pay $300-400 on a phone it should be perfect, id be mad about it as well.

Nasty! But better than a booger I guess? :p

So for $300-$400 things sould be perfect?:p

LOL, I'd definitely return that one...

It makes you wonder though if that's part of the manufacturing process that was giving them problems. When you're dealing with sealing anything white, any little speck of dust, hair, particles etc. all show up under the glass. It'd have to be very pristine conditions to get them perfect!

I would return it. I'm picky.

it is a companies duty to sell you goods you are satisfied with and received as described, im sure you ordered a immaculate white iphone, therefore you have not, it is a shabby paint job therefore return it and serve them with a give me another phone biatch complaint if they refuse then demand the manager if he refuses, say you will report them to offcom or whoever, and your local law advisor...
