I could order the parts to make my black iphone white right now and by this time next week have a white iphone, this is a non topic.

When I said fake I didn't mean it was a knock off, I think it was once a black iphone and was made to be white.

Why go thru the big hoax? Idk, but I've never gotten an iphone with unwrapped cables and stuff in the box.

While its entirely possible that he could've bought replacement front and back panels, something such as the white inside of the dock connector seems hard to fake. And yer, I agree, the reasoning for doing all this isn't apparent. Most likely answer is what was said before, its a second hand review unit of some sort, probably handed out before Apple noticed a problem with the manufacturing and the colour thing.

So are we supposing he photoshopped the cover of the box as well? It does have a pic of a white phone.. I'm in no position to say if it's real or fake, but that's a pretty elaborate hoax if so..

All it takes is some money to convert your black iPhone 4 into a white iPhone and then, the final touch, you print a photo of a white iPhone and paste it onto your existing box (it has been done before)
i thought it was a little strange how he removed the bottom shrink wrap so delicately. if the top of the box was a print and paste job that may make some sense. i bet the phone was already activated and used were the reasons why he never powered it on.

i don't believe it's legitimate but even if so, what a sad commentary on the guy's life to make such a big deal out of something so minor.

Also about the sim car removal tool, here in Canada our iPhone 4's come with sim removal tools...

The box had a AT&T logo on it.

looks legit to me, might be re-shrink-wrapped because ebay seller opened box to take real pics of it for the sale(authorized apple sellers are allowed to do this I believe). And what's wrong with the sim removal tool? My iphone 4 came with one just like my old 3g.

HAHA!!! This is hilarious...

Notice how the Fedex label on the box doesn't even line up! It's obviously been opened and re-closed.

People will stop at nothing to make idiots of themselves! Why do people want to try to prove stuff like this?? Who cares if you get the first one? But really - you're not fooling anyone. They arent out yet. Stop trying.

Fakedy fake fake fake! But it was a verry verry verry verry good effort. But he might not know that. But if it is real it might be a defected model because it was verry well "faked"

Yeah, good try, but definitely a fake. (stuff not wrapped correctly, etc.) Even in his description, he says that he got his wife an iPhone from Europe, but it's locked to AT&T? Thats either seriously bad luck or he's just really not that smart.

How can this possibly be fake?!! I dont get people here that will do anything to claim something fake. Look at the freakin phone! its obviously a real iphone. Look at the box, it has the white iphone on the cover. How can any of that possibly be fake? Just because it wasnt packaged the same way doesnt mean its fake.

A sync cable thats not wrapped right automatically makes the entire thing fake? hahaha ok.

Yes. Have you ever noticed how meticlous Apple's packaging is? That alone proves it.

Plus, look at the packaging in the video here:

And the black box:

And real inside packaging:

Sorry, no cigar.
