Week 19 white iPhone 4 here and no discoloration whatsoever. Dirt and lint get in between the glass and border like as stated above but I use my business card to clean it up a bit lol.

I guarantee you, the black phones look messier. I've had both and the black shows fingerprints everywhere, the white only in the screen. Ive had a white iPhone since April. It is not dirty or discolored.

I disagree. Have had both as well and I find myself cleaning the white one more frequently. Worth noting that I have a full zagg on it...

Launch day white iPhone 4 here and zero issues with discoloration or readability with mine. Not even around the home button or the edges of the glass.

Take care of your phone and don't worry about it.

Well he is correct in that white iPhones don't show fingerprints as bad as black iphones. Just like black cars are harder to keep clean after washing.

However, if dirt/dust builds up around the edges of the screen protector/ports it will show more on a white.

Otherwise, it's glass.. It's not going to get "dirty" like a white t shirt vs black t shirt would.

I've had my white iPhone 4 since June and I have noticed no discoloration of any kind. Viewing web pages is just fine for me as well. I should also note that I am a bit OCD about my phone and keeping it clean. That said, I have no regrets about going with the white iPhone model.

Just an FYI, I also have a white iPad 2 and I find reading eBooks that I've purchased through iBooks to be no distraction at all. Plus, you can change the background pages to suit your preference.

I have white with no problems at all. Actually I know many people that got the black one and regret it.

sigh... should I even respond any more? For the third time, if you have a screen cover, it IS going to get dirty. That is what I keep referring to. And that is likely where people think discoloration is happening.

I've had the white 4S since it came out and haven't noticed any differences from my black 4. The WHITE is still WHITE.

For the third time?

I guess I'm just confused as to why you're talking about the screen protector getting dirty when the OP was asking if the white phone itself get's dirty/discolored. Maybe that's why there is some sort of confusion. What you're "referring to" isn't what the OP was asking.

Dirt and other crap will get stuck in seems, vents, speaker holes and other little spaces, and while this would happen with the black iPhone too, it will be much more visible on the white.
