White is the ONLY colour to get a Golf GTI in. No debate. No compromises. BTW I had a white iBook for a couple of years and I feel very manly. I'm glad that's all the OP has to worry about. I wish my life was that simple.

I agree. There's far more important things to worry about then what color your laptop is. I'm a college student and i've taken my white Macbook to college a few times. I've never had a ''Oh its white, you're gay'' comment.
Be thankful. Most people don't have a C2D laptop, let alone one that is made by the best company on earth. 😱
Just think how many gay people there are out there...with all those white sidewalks & white walls in people's homes. We're talking about BLACK & WHITE.
Maybe it's not a matter of masculinity...perhaps it's more a matter of common sense. Why spend $125-150 more for the same machine in a different color? Especially when we're talking about the two PLAINEST colors in the spectrum.
In the end, it ain't my money...but if someone wants to get spend extra for his computer because he think's it'll make him look more manly...they may want to get a girlfriend.

I like my blackbook, color and all. The only thing that I don't really like about it is the fact that you can get your finger prints on it so easily.

that is so true. I was set on a blackbook, then I went to two different Apple stores and the display models both looked like someone had eaten KFC before testing them out. Pretty ridiculous. that and the graphics card changed my mind and I went with a MBP. Plus like Veritas&Equitas(boondock saints!) said the MBP is sexy and professional looking.

hahah how come i never saw this thread... well anyways, it's funny i have afriend who s a huge pc guy so we fight and argue all the time (we actually fight, get on the gear and jump in the ring)but at the end of it it's all jokes... he has this saying "you know what the hardest thing of having a white mac is?....telling your parents you are gay".... (no disrespect meant to anyone here by the way...)

3 girls and a guy i know bought the white ones. The girls chose white for obvious reasons (Stands out). The guy bought it because it was cheaper.
He got flak for getting the white one though. All the girls/guys called it a girly laptop but he didn't care which i guess is the manly thing to do
Me i've not really been a fan of white from time. Its why i stopped buying white ipods as soon as they introduced the black, its why i didnt buy white gen iMacs and its why my first Mac was a 12" PowerBook rather than an iBook G4 I find it (white) stains easily and the fact is, majority of the white products i've seen have been owned by women because its more of a feminine colour.
Call me whatever you want but white is just not my colour....for anything except clothing. Black, Brown, Blue, Silver and maybe Red are my preferred colours

My first two iPods were white. The third is black. My Powerbook (540c) was grey. My iBook was white. My Gateways were black or grey. Ditto for the Compaq and the Thinkpad. My Macbook is white. If I get a Thinkpad next year, it will be black.

Well, I'd say if Apple can get you guys to pay $100 extra for black plastic instead of white then I'd say their advertising has done quite a good job.
