Hmm...I'm kinda confused on what you're asking. What I ordered from them IS the white back housing. As far as the company goes, I would definitely recommend them. If you can clarify what you mean, I'll be glad to give my take on it. :D

On the website they are selling an iPhone 4 white conversion kit including the front digitalizer, back and home button. It costs $99 but if you opt out of getting an OEM back and choose an after-market one the price drops to $84.

I have a white iPhone...but seeing this makes me want to get black.

But oh well, I got white bc it feels like I actually have a new phone (upgraded from black 4S)

OP, do you think a black backplate will look good with a white front?

Hmm...that's interesting. I would think that would be the way to go, then. :D

I think the white front with the black back would look cool, but obviously it's a subjective thing. The nice thing about it is you can try it for $25...if you end up not liking it, you can always put the white back on again and probably sell the black back here. Even if you don't sell it, you're not out a lot of money anyway. LOL...I'm all for low-cost mods!

Good enough for me, I bought 1 haha.

In the bumper it looks ok but I was referring to this

but hey I guess the new trend with kids these days is to have something that looks like it was pieced together from different parts

Haha, well, I'm hardly a kid. Heck, I'm firmly planted in the "middle-aged" demographic. :D

Again, it's a just a personal preference. I like it. You don't. That doesn't mean one of us is wrong or right. It just means our opinions differ. :D

im gonna do research on how hard/simple the lcd part is, if it seems too much then im gonna do the transparent back for $25

If you carefully follow a guide like ifixit, replacing the LCD/screen is pretty straight forward. Just make sure to lay everything out in order as you disassemble it

cnn.cn also sells the "OEM" back plates, but also has a cheaper one and different colours and such. :) All by all, I love this more than a case. :p

straight forward, but it's not simple, just very tedious and not something to attempt if you haven't even done simple housing swaps on other type of devices

probably one of the harder tear downs I have seen...after taking the battery out, it's all a pain from there on out

I did my ip4 from black to white without previous experience, I just laid a light colour sheet on the table and as I took out screws I put them with the corresponding component & in order of removal. Slow & steady the order of the day!

A little off topic, does the iphone 4s back require a flash diffuser like the iphone 4 ?

Short answer...yes. The one I posted in the original post come with it already installed (unlike some of the other places that sell OEM back plates).

Thanks for the info, I definitely would avoid buy one without a diffuser. 90% of the "metal" back listings on ebay, for example, dont have one. A do-it-yourselfer can probably fix that, but thats not for me :p
