Bought the black CandyShell and the damn thing had microscratches all over it.

Might as well not have all that bulk if it's going to look as scratched up as the device itself.

Anyone who has used the white candyshell, do the scratches on the back turn brown (or any color) after awhile?
The scratches don't turn brown on the White Candyshell luckily. The scratches are apparent when you look into the light with it, but nowhere near as ugly as how the Black version ends up. I can live with it, I just wish they'd put a scratch free coating on them.

Finally got my replacement candyshell two days ago, this time in the white color. Definitely shows less scratches. They are there, but honestly not really noticeable at all. However, one thing I have already noticed is that the stupid rubber is already flaking. I can't believe it. The same thing happened with my black one as well. So far it is only very slight and not too noticeable, but I have only used the case for two days. :(

Make sure this THEE case you want on your phone. Taking the case off is a huge pain in the a$$. Overall though, it seems pretty sturdy. Rec'd my replacement case a couple days ago and like it so far.

Very much so a PITA to take the case off the phone. I'm returning my candyshell today as the eraser effect is still an issue on the new version for the Black/Grey.

What is "eraser effect"? Never heard of this before. If it's something that scratches up my phone then this case is hitting the trash.

It doesn't scratch up your phone. After a while the rubber on the case begins to come off and looks like an eraser. It's pretty ugly IMO and definitely shouldn't happen for a $35 case. I'm returning mine today. I'll rotate between the Incipio NGP & Griffin Reveal.

Does everyone have to send their CandyShell back to Speck if it's the old revision? I contacted Speck for a replacement and this is what Erik replied:

"Our products are under warranty for 1 year from the Original purchase date from authorized resellers and our website. The warranty only covers defects.

Please mail the case to us for a replacement. Include a copy of your receipt. There is no need to send the packaging back. On a 3 x 5 card include a return address and the top two colors you want just in case the first choice is out of stock. Include your email address so you can be copied on the replacement order email which will have your SO# or Sales Order number. Please keep that for reference. Allow 3-5 days for delivery once Speck receives your case."

Odd. I spoke with Erik several times and the only thing he asked me was to send pics of the issue/damage to the case. Maybe they've changed their process for replacing cases but I had to contact them about 4 times in order to finally get a correct replacement case.

What did you say to them exactly? Maybe the way I asked them was too demanding... :(
