Who Actually Likes the Magic Mouse?

I love my first generation Magic Mouse! I honestly can't imagine using any other mouse. Well, maybe the 2nd gen Magic Mouse. Not sure on that one. I've heard some bad things about them..

I like it as a portable mouse for my laptop. But way too small and uncomfortable to use it for a long period as a desktop mouse.

I don't think it's ergonomically the most comfortable mouse but it's fine. That said I wouldn't want to live without the gesture controls. It's by far the best portable Mac mouse for that reason - I love swiping through fullscreen apps. Makes living without an external monitor far more pleasant. Battery life is stellar too.

So I guess I like it but there is plenty of room for improvement.

It is a product from Apple that gets the job done. It has no specific qualities that make it better than many 3rd party devices, but Apple made it, so it gets a pass for obvious reasons. Habit comes to mind. It came with my computer and I got used to it, etc etc.

In the end, software trumps all devices. If you don't have any possible exception in hand, you wouldn't know the possible difference. Good for you I say.

I voted adequate. It does what is needed. I prefer track balls for some reason.

I voted adequate - I like the build quality, the heft, the balance, and the touch capability. I dislike how it only operates in 1 band that is currently overcrowded and prone to severe interferences from the devices that run right next to it, and I'm not particularly fond of the ergonomics (gesture controls for me really offsets this.) Overall, I think it is much nicer than most other OEM mice, and it is disproportionately nicer than Apple keyboards. It can also be improved in the next generation.

I have a couple first generation and one second generation Magic Mouse. It took a while to get used to them. I would close browser windows with an accidental swipe but over time learned to use it. One disadvantage of the Magic Mouse 2 is that when it tells you the battery is low you are going to need to stop work for five minutes or so to get that recharge. It is a good excuse to go get a fresh cup of coffee.
