In the least condescending way to the Apple overlords. But does anyone actually use Clips?

I don’t get what it’s for. Is it like something you’d use for Instagram edits? I’ve literally not ever seen footage made on it used by anyone other than Apple and people at the keynotes using it. What’s its point?

I haven't used it. Coming from someone who takes about 1k photos a month. :) Haven't really tried to use it...

I use Google Photos to make gifs of livephotos more than anything.

I have just used it. Had a small get away with the wife and put something really nice together. I think it's a really great tool that works fast. Not a imove or FCP replacement but for something that i can do on my phone it turned out great.
I used drone footage, slowmo, photos and some scenes from the clips app (using the X). I would recommend it.

Clips, just like Live Photos or Animoji is meant to showcase TrueDepth camera and get people used to the idea of its new concept and utility.

I think this is probably the sweetest answer. I guess I just needed a use case as an example to kind of wrap my head around why it would be used.

Apple's Live Photos are a neat trick when done well, but in practice they tend to be a wobbly mess. Last year, Google showed off a much more elegant solution with it's Motion Stills app for iOS, which converted shaky Live Photos to smooth looping GIFs or movie files that could actually be exported to Instagram and other services.
