I have a small 6-8mm long scratch across the notch part of the screen on my iPhone 12. This is where the first screen protector I used had this notch part missing and the screen was unprotected. I now have a full screen tempered glass protector on and you can no longer see the scratch. The screen is certainly softer than the screen protector that’s for sure.

This does make me nervous. After the ESR ones I fitted lifted at the edges when I took the case off, I fitted a Spigen Glastr EZ Fit, which has the notch cut out. It was really easy to fit, but I am mindful it leaves the notch exposed.

Mind you, I have Applecare+, so worst comes to the worst and I have the option of screen replacements.

The first screen protector I used was a Spigen one with a template for fitting. I think Spigen now do a full screen version though.

iPhone will acquire scratches under normal east and tear unless you put a case and screen protector on

Probably my biggest disappointment switching to iPhone is the cheap plastic feel of the screen. No scratches so far

Not I... glass screen protectors were put on my 12 pro max and 12 pro as soon as I took it out of the box and before I turned them on. You can either protect your expensive iPhone or you can complain that there are scratches on it.
People just want something to complain about. A screen protector prevents scratches. Back in the day when they were plastic I could see not wanting them but not today with modern glass screen protectors.

I didnt know that others found the glass kind of bad to the touch too. I find it a bit plasticy as well and it never feels smooth to the touch
