I tried placing the order at around 1am but there was so much traffic, and constant errors I decided to go to sleep. Woke up at 10:30am PST and placed it at 10:35
no problems at all, only thing I had to do was go into my brother's AT&T account and change the billing address so that I could get it sent to my house instead of his.
Haven't received the confirmation email yet, and that's kinda worrying me but I assume it takes a while since there's so many people doing it right now. We shall see!

Started at around 4am. Tried and tried to get past the AT&T check until after 4:45. I then started trying the Apple Store App and did not have luck until a little later but it timed out also. Eventually got the "reservation made", but no confirmation until I was able to log in after 6am and finish the order.
Apple.com @2:00am after a bunch of ERROR messages...
Got my official email confirmation @12:36pm...
Still got the Oct 14th delivery date...

No reason to go through Apple, AT&T was less busy and the phone I ordered for my wife took just 10 minutes start to finish including confirmation.
I use Apple for computers, iPads and the like. When I buy the iPhone through AT&T it makes me eligible for the next iPhone model a year later, or whenever it's released. That alone is worth it.

Preordered mine through Apple. Had a few issues though due to the mailing address on my relative's AT&T account being a P.O. Box instead of a home address though. Just fixed everything and redid my preorder so everything is great now lol.
Verizon went up early! So 1:55am. No problems at all. Very fast!
Was your CC charged? I received a confirmation email but there has been no activity on my credit card. I'm assuming it will charge when it ships next week.
After 2.5 hours of failed attempts on Apple and AT&T since 3am, I went to sleep and woke up again at 8am. At that time, I was able to get through to AT&T**, ordered, and got a confirmation email.
** Ticked though because
1) I didn't need to wake up at 3am in that case.
2) AT&T's website activated the Pre-Order button for the iPhone 4S, but after entering your info, it led to a page of only iPhone 4 options. This wasn't the case for everyone. It was for me and some others. I know it was their error because at 8am, I went through the same steps and ah, there it was, the iPhone 4S plus iPhone 4 options. So somebody forgot to flip the switch, and I hope that error on their part doesn't result in my order being delayed.

I tried nonstop from the time the damn Apple store finally opened around 3:45 until 5:30ish, alternating tries between the online store and the app, & when I couldn't take the frustration (and exhaustion) anymore, I went back to bed. Woke up at 7:30 and picked up the phone, which was still on the screen in the app that contained my info, hit the button in the upper right to resubmit, and it went through with absolutely no hiccups or delay. The app was the only way I ever got through last summer (for a reservation only), so I was trying to use it more than the online store on a hunch it might work out the same this time.
Apple.com around 5:30 AM. First try had an issue but then got through and placed the order and got the acknowledgement a few minutes later.

I originally was going to try and order from AT&T at 3:01 CT but decided to go to AT&T store at 7 am this morning. I was first of 3 people there and at 8 a rep came out and told us there was a 14-21 day delivery estimate. I got pissed and left. Tried Apple store at 9:45am but for some reason the stupid AT&T rep screwed up my data plan. I'm grandfathered in and made the mistake of buying HTC Inspire for 3 days, swapped me from iPhone unlimited to Smartphone unlimited and so it wouldn't give me the option to select $30/unlimited. Did not want to lose that. So after classes I headed to AT&T and they switched me back to iPhone unlimited plan. Got on Apple at 2 this afternoon and got an order in no problem. Got my confirmation email at 4:30 with an Oct. 14 delivery date. I was very pleasantly surprised. Can't wait until Friday!

Ordered 2 black 32 GB's from VZW.com around 2:45PM PST, got confirmation email right away. Just checked order status and it still says Oct. 14!
I tried from about 12:30 PST to 1:30 and kept getting kicked out. I went to bed, woke up at 5:30, and gave it another shot. It was a little slow, but went right through. The subsequent email confirmation said I'll get it on the 14th.
I was up at 3am waiting for Apple.com to come up then they shut it down completely. I kept refreshing until 4 and finally it went through; then it told me that you couldn't do new lines with Sprint. Since Sprint was the first to go live with the pre-orders I guess it was heavy traffic so from 4-11am its site kept going down. I wasn't able to order until 11:30; lol.
Hmm. I ordered about 9:30 AM PST and I haven't gotten a confirmation email yet. However, under Order Status on Apple.com it says I have made the order and it will be delivered on the 14th.
Hoping to have the email when I wake up tomorrow.
I really wanted to get through on apple.com but the site kept crashing so after about an hour of messing around with at about 1:30 AM PST I just went on att.com. The order went through as smooth as it could have and I was done. I kind of wanted to keep trying with Apple, but I was having a major case of pillow lust and just wanted it done with.
