Hey guys,
Read alot of the backlighting problem thread and I'm scared as I'm getting a ipad in a month.

So I want to know who DOESN'T have a problem with their ipad screen, or will have apple fixed this problem by mid-august?

Cheers.

And for those of you on Twitter I'm @_mattprice_

Even the iPad 2 commercial has an iPad with backlight bleed. Time to stop worrying about it and enjoy the iPad. If it's bad, exchange it. If it exists, don't worry about it, it's not that noticeable in most situations. :)

I had very little when I got mine last month, I mean very little. Now today there is none.:D

Bough mine on release day and have no bleed. I have double checked several times when these threads pop up. Obviously this doesn't help you in determining if the problem has been addressed, but keep in mind that although it was widespread it is not present on every single one.

I was nervous about backlight bleeding at first too, but then I realised that my HTC Desire have had it since I got it and you can't really see it if you dont look at dark photos in dark room. What I will do and would recommend for you too is not check for backlight bleeding when you get your iPad, use it and if you see it and it really bothers you, go to Apple shop and change to now one.

Sorry for my bad english.

Apple sold 9.25 million iPads last quarter, and yet there don't seem to be huge lines of angry customers outside Apple Stores trying to return them.

There may have been some issues with early-production models. But widespread problems seem to have disappeared. Bear in mind, also, that just about every LCD device will suffer from this to a certain extent. Its normally only noticeable with the brightness turned way up, viewing a totally black image, in a darkened room. Hardly a "normal" usage condition.

I'd ignore the eternal thread they've got going here. "Backlight Bleeding" at this point exists mainly in the fevered brains of people who like to whine in internet forums.

I don't see any in the one I've been using since mid April. Before that one I had another one only a couple of days and honestly I dont remember if it had bleeding or not, probably not as I would remember if it did, but I can't say for sure.

Most of the iPad 2s have at least a little bleed; but, as others have said, you can easily exchange it if it is too bad. I bought two and one was close to perfect, the other one was unacceptable and Apple replaced it without even looking. Don't worry about it you will be fine.

Who the hell even cares about this? Some people are way to anal. Do you plan on staring at a blank black screen? If not, then you have nothing to worry about.

I am on the 5th ipad this month. Finally a keeper! It is bleedint a littlebit but i dont notice it:). The 4 first ipads i had was terrible. Nr 2 and 3 was very bad.

But this ipad come to norway on friday and it is good! Good color on the screen too

Never any problem on my iPad 2, received March 21. Beautiful display.

Since it works perfectly, like others here, I've not hidden in a dark closet staring at a black screen to search for a few specs of light.

On all my 4 ipads with ligght bleed was the bleeding very easy to see when watching youtube movies at night. And it was very annoying

i've got a very small amount of backlight in the lower rh corner but it's not a problem and the only reason i've ever noticed it was i did the all dark thingy in a dark room with only a firefly for light...:D

Which commercial?

No light bleed here.

iPad is amazing commercial. Where the solar system app is. It's light but there. Same as mine - I don't even notice it at all and certainly doesn't bother me a bit but like I said, it's light (ie faint)
