I think its funny that Apple cannot produce a larger screen iPhone (5.7 inch) because they haven't worked out the bugs yet. However, they continue to bash companies like Samsung and HTC who have been producing larger screen phones for YEARS now! So much for being innovative at Apple.:D

I highly doubt that's the reason nor does Apple bash the competition about screen size. Albeit they may have claims of why smaller is better. It's been a while since Apple has been on the offensive with their ad campaigns.

It's all about money. Apple will produce a larger screen iPhone when it's the most profitable for them to do so. And rumors lead me to believe that it's now (next iPhone).

Btw a large screen is not innovative. Plus Apple does it with the iPads and macs so it's not anything new.

iPhone 6
- larger display
- thinner bezels
- faster processor
- better camera

As much as I hate to admit it, I too am looking forward to the bigger screen. The question is will there be two screen sizes or three? I'm assuming they'd keep the 4" around for people who don't want the bigger phone. And the 4.7" all but certain. But will there be a giant 5.5" as well?

Apple has so much homework to do regarding iOS, iCloud services and the whole iTunes / Music App discovery that I have to say that the hardware does not excite me so much this year.

Whatever they come up with should show massive improvements in API's as well. Otherwise it's just an incremental hardware update with no real improvement in usability / flexibility.

- iCloud Backups over cellular (automatic, forced after N days)
- More inter-app communication (other than URL schemes)

- Background services for Apps (as signed separate entities to control them)
i.e. a dropbox "service" signed by dropbox but usable in all apps)

- More flexible data exchange between Apps in iCloud (from separate vendors)
- iCloud storage based on a REST service with access control.
(this would enable iCloud data debugging as well)

A bigger screen will make it harder to reach that back button in the upper right hand corner.

So put the button somewhere else. Or implement a gesture to accomplish that.

Problem solved.

I can wait.

Amazingly, there's more in my life than a new phone.

Go figure.

And, a sick pimp ass does not actually sound that appealing....

Go figure...

:p

When you're on a forum about iPhones, other, more important things in life aren't really relevant. Which is the same reason I don't start threads about what I did over the weekend with my wife and kids. Which happens to be way more important then any stupid phone. But when I'm on here, you better believe I'm pumped for the new iPhone. And I can't wait to camp out for it when it launches.

You might be too cool to say you're excited for the new iPhone. But I'm sure not. Go Figure...

I can wait since this is what apple fans learn to do. Good things come to those who wait. But I will be ordering on day one :)

I can't wait. My s3 died and now I don't even have a smartphone. I'm eager to switch to the iPhone this time

They have one (gesture), swiping from left (off screen) to right. Unfortunately not all apps utilize this, however quite a few do.

My problem is the case I use doesn't allow for this feature to work too well.

I'm hoping with the 6 case manufacturers take this into account and just as importantly devs take this into account.

I think 4.7 inch is just perfect and 3.5 is also good but more bigger is creating an issue.

Yeah, an issue of better eyesight and more comfortable web browsing. Once Apple bring the bigger screens out, all the iSheep will slate the older and smaller devices...it's just a matter of adjusting to the new sizing. Change is hard for some folk, they would rather put up with something inferior because they're uncomfortable with change.

So I read that the smaller 4.7-inch screen variant will be released in August an the higher end larger screen iPhone 6 will be released in September. Anyone have any confirmation on this?

Personally I think I'll wait for the 6S. AT that point the iPhone will get a nice upgrade and most apps will have been optimised to the larger screen size.

I find it unlikely but I'd love for that to happen. Apple will likely continue there slightly later releases to take advantage of "in tech" during the holiday season.

I would like to have it released right now, I´d get the "small" version with 32GB, or maybe even 64GB, it depends on whats the "smallest" model is going to be, I always get the medium model. Black or grey is the color of my choice. I´ve had my iPhone 5 32GB since release now, and want something new.

I hope it´s quick to be sold without contract here in Norway!

This can't be a serious question, right? It's called MacRumors for a reason. But incase it' a serious question, nothing has been confirmed until Apple says so.

The front page now says that macrumors has confirmed with a reliable source that the iPhone 6 will launch in the 3rd of 4th week in september.

This is the perfect time to upgrade. the 6S will have the same design as the 6. And a year later the 6S will become way obsolete because the iPhone will change its design. also when it comes to phone, there is no such thing as waiting... The technology changes like everyday.
