Personally, I like the newer design better than the old one. Change is good and even better when you make something that is already great, thinner, lighter and faster. Of course, I'm waiting for my iPad 2 to arrive before I can put my hands on it and really feel the difference.

Agreed, the fact that they made the bezel smaller, and the overall feel of the device is much better than the 1st gen. I think the design doesn't look as "flashy" as the first one did, but the design is much better from a user standpoint. It doesn't take long after you get your hands on it to realize it is a better design.

I do agree with others who say they should have made it more like the iPhone 4 where it had no tapered edges, but I still feel this is better than 1st gen.

It's perfect stuff.

Besides, it's not really the way it looks. How it feels and how thin and light it feels in your hands.

I am loving this stuff. Till ipad 3 comes out. Apple events are just fun fun stuff...
:D

I'm not sure how you thought aluminum looked horrid compared to white plastic or how the black glass of the iPhone 4 looked horrid compared to black plastic.

Don't get me wrong, I now own a 27" iMac and iPhone 4 and think they're the best looking of all previous iterations. I would usually only feel that way before the official introduction, when blogs would post fuzzy leaked photos and renderings. By the time Apple has their keynote, I'm pretty much sold.
