I seriously considered upgrading to the SII today. But in the end I was turned away by the app ecosystem, the historically poor battery life, the delay in sending OS updates, and the cheap build.

My upgrade is up, and I am on the fence on buying the 4S.

I like my 3GS and it still functions dutifully, but iOS 5 has slowed the 3GS.

I am open for everything, but iOS is the best OS to use. That's my personal opinion.

I also think 4.5 inch phones are just too big.

I have no problem with 4.0 or even 4.3 inch phones. But, after that... I really don't want 4.5 or even 5.3 inch phones like Galaxy Note or etc...

Both of Galaxy S2 phones are 4.5 inch screen. Only AT&T version is 4.3 inch, but guess what...

All of these damn android phones are skinned and all of them have crap software from their carriers like AT&T Navigator, Sprint nav or etc.

Also, Galaxy S2 phones have been out for a while in other countries. It has been out since April. I don't want to buy something that has been out for 5-6 months. It's too late.

Only phone that might tempt me... would be Nexus Prime.

Again, since I haven't seen the phone. I can't say anything about it.

For Verizon users, it might be worth a while because Verizon already cover half of People in US with LTE.

For Sprint and AT&T users, LTE doesn't mean anything. They don't have coverage. Sprint has none and AT&T has LTE in 5 markets.

I do not want LTE with coverage like that.

I know that iPhone 4S doesn't meet people's expectations, but Everyone had high expectations. Apple is trying to slow down itself. They seemed to be more focus on Pricing and availability for consumers. They are absolutely right. During hard times like this, I don't think every one can afford to upgrade every year.

Honestly, iPhone 4S is perfect device for people who still own 3G or 3GS. iPhone 4 users are not eligible for upgrade yet anyway... Stop bitching.

I just dont get the cheap build comments. Apple iPhones were plastic and then they stick glass all around it and it shatters into a thousand pieces when you drop it and thats better? I have dropped my Vibrant a few times on asphalt and and nothing happened to the glass.

Just dont get the comments on that. Must be because the iPhone is heavier...which i dont like.

While the iP 4S intro may not have lived up to the hype, there's no way I'd go back to Android.

I went from an AT&T iPhone 3GS and in an attempt to move to Verizon (which in my area is the superior carrier) went to a Verizon Blackberry Tour to a Blackberry Storm 2 to a Moto Droid to an HTC Incredible. All four were horrible. The original Moto Droid worked alright, but Android 2.0 didn't have anywhere near the number of apps - and many that I wanted simply didn't exist. And the slide-out keyboard was so uncomfortable as to be beyond useless. HTC's version of Android had the worst contact manager I've ever seen. Android had no ability to resize images and HTML layout in email like in the browser (or like the iPhone can), so HTML email required massive panning & scanning of the mail page. Horrible. And literally no way to select a block of text in the Gmail app. None. Eventually got added almost a year later.

Went through several versions of custom Android ROMs including various vanilla Android implementations to various Sense builds and hybrids. All were buggy and clunky. And the battery life on the Incredible was anything but.

Got the Verizon iPhone the day it came out and thanked my lucky stars.

So while Apple didn't introduce the "iPhone 5," what they did announce is still better IMO than anything else on the market.

I would have liked a 3.7" iPhone screen (same 960x640) and a new form factor would have been slick, but it's still better than the competition.

The battery cover is flimsy because of how thin it is. I would have preferred it to not have a user removable better than the current thin cover implementation.

good luck with yellowish tint on your SGS2's screen, i mean yellow is really yellow. photos look unnatural. my friend's photos on the Facebook look like it's been put with crap all over it. and images are so dark compared to the iPhone. like when you look at games screenshot that has dark area like in gamepro.com, you can't barely see a thing on this samoled+.

and good luck with the wifi signal performance. i have to stand next to the router to get full signal. and in my garden, i browse websites easily with my iPhone 4 while the SGS2 has no signal at all.

Not me. I had an Android phone. Lots to like about Android, but just not for me. App Market is a mess compared to the iOS App Store. And anyway, I've already invested too much in the App Store to switch now. Plus, I like the ease of downloading music/movies/tv shows from one place and the way everything is integrated with my Mac and iPad.

I've had the galaxy s2 all summer (unlocked international version) and its completely awful! If you've used an iPhone 4 as I did, you will hate it.

Annoying imprecise scrolling
Low screen resolution that makes portrait mode unusable while web browsing without zooming!
poor build quality (black is wearing off and the area around ear piece is turning gray)
UI ugly as hell
The OS is inferior to iOS in EVERY way.
Few, if any, quality games and apps. android market is like searching through the trash trying to find something of value.
Not as intuitive. Even after 3 months, I take longer to do just about anything than on iPhone 4.
Fast CPU but NOTHING in the android market takes advantage of the speed.

Selling this crap as soon as 4S comes out. If you've never used an iPhone, you might like Android. Anyone who actually prefers Android (and have used both for an extended amount of time) is certifiably insane!
