Dirt and abrasive particles can get caught between the bumper and the phone and with the slight amount of play in the bumper's fit these can scratch the metal band. Or were you just trying to be clever with a "pics or it didn't happen" response?

Ummmm, wasn't trying to be clever at all. Genuinely wanted to see what damage was done because I use a bumper, but havent noticed any issue but would love to avoid it.

I imagine dirt could get in there, but the borders of the bumper seem to hit right against the glass and such, so I was just curious is all. Sucks if the bumper + some debri can give it a nick....you'd think the steel would be solid from that stuff!

I love everything about the bumper except that you can't fit any 30 pin connector other than the packed in USB cable.

I happened to have a white bumper on backorder before their free bumper announcement, so my white bumper ends up shipped at no charge.

i am in the market for a white bumper. if you don't like it, i am interested in buying it from you. click my username to send me an email if interested. thanks.

I really wanted to love the bumper. I dig the looks and I actually do like the grip of it.

But it just doesn't work with my previous accessories needing the connector. I REALLY wish it did.

After a little dremel action all is well again, but STILL.

THIS..... i like the little touch of pink on my phone and i love the feel of the bumper.... but i am a bit of a worrywart about dripping it as there isn't all that much protection....

the only thing I dislike about the bumper is the poorly thought out adapter hole which makes it impossible to use with certain devices (that work for all previous cases) without modifying it or buying a slim adapter.

Poorly thought out? Or a well thought out advantage for Apple? You decide.

I just have to say I am very happy with my bumper and I have the black bumper on black iPhone with an Invisible shield and I dont experience any grip issues, I think it looks really nice aswell. :)

when I take the bumper off I think the iPhone looks bare lol

I've just ordered the Incase Snap Case Clear.

EDIT: I actually like the fact that the bumper doesn't cover the back of the phone as the back looks really nice on the iPhone 4, if you're worried about scratching the back then buy an IS.

Never considered the bumper as an option for my phone. Even when apple offered them for free. I'm really glad they included third party cases as part of the deal though. Picked up a pixelskin HD instead.

This.

Also I've noticed that the bumper is a freaking lint/dust magnet. Even when there's some junk on your screen, it's close to impossible to get completely clean because the rubbery edge of the bumper either traps the dust or it collects under it.

I might be trying the SGP Carbon/Ultra Crystal combo soon enough so we'll see how it fairs up.
