I have a 4K ATV in the living room and the 1080p version in my bedroom. I don’t mind updating (the one in my bedroom is getting slow and has problems running some of the games in Apple Arcade), so my plan is to either get 2 new Apple TV’s when it gets refreshed, or upgrade the one in the living room and move the older 4K model into my bedroom.
Either way, no rush for me. I can wait.
We like to play Asphalt-8. If GameLoft finally releases Asphalt-9 (for Apple-TV) but if it was on Arcade, I would start a subscription.
What games do you like to play that are exclusively on Apple Arcade?
Can you use Siri with that remote? My Apple TV itself is fine. But I do think the swipe interface on the Apple TV remote is highly inaccurate, and there is no consistency to the speed in which moving across the surface swipes between elements on screen.
I have put Apple TV's in 4 households in my family and every single one of us prefers to use a Logitech Harmony remote instead.

Have you tried to wrist strap for the remote? It almost seems silly how big a different that made for us. We went from always losing it to almost always being able to find it—at least as much as any remote, certainly better than the last gen Apple TV.My two main issues with it are
1) it’s easy to lose in the couch cushions
2) if you grab it and don’t look it’s easy to grab it upside down and then you try swiping on the glass bottom instead
I also wish it had at least one more programmable button: my TV supports CEC but my stereo doesnt, so while the TV turns on and off appropriately with the aTV and I can program the volume buttons and control the stereo volume with the remote I can’t turn on and off the receiver with it. And I’m not replacing a perfectly good stereo receiver just to get CEC.
Overall I do really like the trackpad like surface though, I just wish it was a bit more ergonomic and maybe had another programmable button or two.
Yeah, it's sad how quickly (pretty much all manufacturers) start dropping support for the OS and Apps in the Smart-TVs. It especially hurts if it was an expensive one and you are trying to actually use/depend on the Apps.I like the software in my LG TV but LG is already phasing out support for my 2018 OLED. Glad I'm not dependent on them!
They want you to buy new TVs, that will never change.Yeah, it's sad how quickly (pretty much all manufacturers) start dropping support for the OS and Apps in the Smart-TVs. It especially hurts if it was an expensive one and you are trying to actually use/depend on the Apps.
Yeah, if yall are paying for XM in one of your cars, remember you can use SiriusXM app on Apple-TV for free (no AirPlay required). I just installed it and it's pretty cool. Sounds good on Home Theater sound system. They also had some videos.
No, but if I need to use Siri I can grab my phone or iPad that are near me and start the Remote app.Can you use Siri with that remote?
That is far from idealNo, but if I need to use Siri I can grab my phone or iPad that are near me and start the Remote app.
I bought an LG oled I want another 4K Apple TV for it but am not buying one with an outdated processor cmon Apple just update the thingJust go a new TV yesterday, a 4K TV from LG, and - for the moment - hooked it up to my old Apple TV 4, outputting 1080p. The TV scales up the picture very well, and the quality - based on yesterday's evening viewing - is excellent.
But, I still would like a new 4K enabled Apple TV. I "refuse" to buy the current one, with 3+ year old tech, so Apple needs to release an updated version soon.
In the mean time I've set up WebOS on the LG TV today, and are currently conducting an experiment on whether I actually _need_ a new Apple TV, or if the built in apps are good enough. The longer it takes, the stronger the chance that I get used to WebOS, and don't miss the Apple TV enough to justify a purchase. (Or - on the other hand - frustration might build up, and I'll but the next version at any price...)

I'm a couple of steps ahead of you and my experience is that the LG works very well but the UI isn't particularly consistent between apps. It's good until you get to the service that isn't on LG WebOS.
