I REALLY dislike auto brightness, it annoys me so much. I keep my brightness right around 35-40%. Any lower is just too dim for me. If I wasn't always trying to stretch battery life, Id keep it prob around 55-60%. I prefer a brighter screen.

Most of the time, I keep my phone at about 15% brightness. I did this on my iPhone and my new Android and I've been getting G much better battery life then other people.
Do you guys do this aswell?

You only live one (YOLO), and you buy iPhone to enjoy your life. Why you need battery life longer than other people? I just set auto brightness and use Naked iphone :D

Nope. I just let auto brightness do its thing. Haven't had any battery problems yet over multiple iPhones.

I am also using auto brightness, but have customized it for low light situations. Auto brightness tends to make the screen too dark and I don't like that, since I am very often in low light rooms. Auto brightness can learn your preferred setting for a specific environment, so I adjusted the brightness for low light rooms, and auto brightness respects this setting. I believe that for most of the times, about 30% brightness is more than enough. Only under direct sunlight the screen should be brighter.

Mine is almost all the way down all the time. Sensitive to light. I have no idea how anyone stands it maxed out.

I can go maybe 30-40%. That's it.

I keep brightness at about 20% to 25% when at home on both my iPad air and 6 Plus. When I'm outside I keep brightness as needed on 6 plus never on auto brightness as I find it too high and then drains battery.

At night it's always turned way down, auto is just too bloody bright when your eyes are adjusted for night time... But during the day I crank it up

Tough call unless you're in the same environment every day. 25-30% normally. However adjust for bright or dim situations

Good grief! I crank mine up, use auto brightness and put on my sunglasses!! Battery lasts forever anyway on my 6+.

So you don't care about the impact on battery life?

Better then looking at a dark screen all day...thats whats auto for works pretty well unless you have some rare diesease that prevents you from looking at light. Seems like you spend alot of time figuring out how to get best possible battery life then enjoying the phone for what it is.

Phaaa, I just keep mine OVER 9000!

Which is when autobrightness kicks in outside. Typically when I'm inside, it's around 20%. I hate it when I have to help someone with their iPhone/iPad/computer at night and the brightness is at 100%. Usually I ask them how they can look at a monitor at night with it at full brightness, and they say that it's too dim any lower than that.

To each his own (burnt out eyes)

I disable auto-brightness and set it to 100%. I don't know why people set it below the maximum. It looks beautiful.

Who else keeps their brightness low as possible?

I don't understand how some people can deal with such dark screens. Sort of defeats the purpose of having the larger screens.

Keeping the screen bright in a dark ambient light condition can and will cause eye strain and head aches

I have had an iPhone every year since the original. Brightness 100%, all the time. Same with my iMacs. No eye strain and no headaches.

Ok, i guess im the only one then. BTW, how is the battery life on your phone when you keep at 100% brightness all the time? Do you keep at that level at night in bed too?

I always go around 30% brightness. Unless I'm in the sun then I whack it up to full. I find any higher than around 30% in normal Co diction too bright.

Keep mine at 25% max!! I still keep it on auto brightness for when im out and about!

I let ios control it. Rarely I have to turn it down (in a dark room) but most usually not. I don't really have battery complaints with my plus. I've notbyet had a day where I was either scrambling for a charger or having to dial down my usage habits. I still make it a point to plug it in when convenient.

If you are indoor, I think auto brightness can actually save the battery life. But if you are outside on a hot sunny day, the result will be opposite.

My eyes are fairly sensitive to bright light so I run my phone and laptop at the lowest possible setting unless in an extremely bright situation like outside in the sun. Meanwhile, my girlfriend has vision problems which force her to keep her screens maxed out on brightness. If I pick hers up to do something, I am momentarily blinded by the bright light.

I have a 5 and she has a 5S, and she gets slightly worse battery life than me but I am pretty sure that is due more to background apps and services rather than screen brightness.

I usually set mine just off the lowest point I don't see the point of getting swamped in excessive light
