I take my iPad everywhere. I'm at a resturaunt right now. I use it for everything. Games, notes, maps. I do not have an iPhone and my phone is impossible to use the web on. I'm not afraid of it getting stolen or anything. I keep it in a sleeve and then in a small sling backpack. I take it out when I need to use it.

$45 for 2gb of data a month sounds like a rip. If you don't have 3G on your iPad you won't have reliable GPS.

It is 4gb of data a month, and most people don't need GPS because they have it in their car or on their phone.

I wouldn't say most people, and for the ones who have it on their phone... wouldn't you rather have it on a larger screen than a phone?

When I am driving a larger screen is distracting. I really only need voice navigation. All I do is type in the address and then go driving. The screen is never really looked at except when I am stopped and that is just casual glancing.

When not in my car though I love the iPad, but I just never use GPS on it.

Besides, I have a mount for my iPhone already, and there is no place for my iPad that would fit without an expensive custom solution.

I think you would change your mind if you had the 3G to try!

I had a 1st gen iPad 3G, let me assure you I tested out the GPS extensively and found it to be not useful enough considering I already use my iPhone for that. As I said above, an iPad mount in my car in a position that is useful would require a custom mount which is expensive.

On top of that, everywhere I went had Wi-Fi so I never turned on 3G.

I would bring mine everywhere but I have school, they dint ket use use any devise. I go to a catholic high school and only the good rich and popular catholic schools get them. Like one of my friends schools the school will provide them with one. I want to petition for at least letting us use them. They don't want us on like Facebook that is the problem, so idk

I don't. I use my iPhone when on the go. I take my iPad when I'm traveling, toss it in my backpack for school, and use it around the house. It's not like I'm going to haul it into the grocery store when I have an iPhone that'll do the same thing on a smaller screen.

Everywhere! I have a wifi only but own a myfi through Verizon, so I pay once but my kids can get access on their itouch too.

Nope, and not just because it's wifi only. I don't need to have such a huge thing with me all the time. My iPhone fits that role.

It goes with me every day. Last Tuesday I was running late late and forgot it. Made my husband come and meet me with it. He made some comment about surgically attaching to my hand would be a good idea.

Nope.

I actually sold my MBP and got an iMac for the sole purpose of eliminating redundancy. I didn't want to have two portable computers in the house because every time I sit on the couch I'll be faced with the same dilemma: MBP or iPad? Same thing with iPhone and iPad. My iPhone more than covers my needs/wants when I'm on the go. Whether it's checking email at a restaurant, or reading a blog as I wait on an oil change, or playing a game while standing in line somewhere. What's the point of having such a capable phone if I'm going to ignore it in favor of the iPad?

For me, the iPad is definitely an at-home device...hands down!

Lol I'm at a family function and my mom for the first time is using my iPad. Looking for a car, she's all pro now. Ever since I threw her PC and got her a iMac. :D

Right now I'm the only member at LA Fitness with an iPad.

Up here it's rare, I only seen a few most are in malls that have an Apple Store. I'm guessing they need help/service.

I don't take mine everywhere but I take mine a lot. If I'm just going to the store, which is one block away, I don't take it. If I go anywhere further away and have to take a bus or subway I usually take it.

Mine goes with me everywhere. Last week, I actually left the house without it and felt naked the whole time I was gone.

I use it for both creation and consumption... Grocery lists, notes for work and neighborhood action group, e-mail, web browsing, class papers, games, reading, and controlling my home theater to name the main tasks it is used for. :D

Using ipad

Funny enough I do take my iPad with me 80% of the time and I have a 3GS that works almost as well.

Finally used my 1998 Sony Viao leather carrying case. The Viao was similar sized and it's removable front compartment take the strap very nicely and fits over my shoulder perfectly.

Never used it on the Sony as you needed all the attachments too bulky

Apple perfected the Viao 505g

Just took a while.
