I have never owned or even used a keyboard for an iPad. Kinda defeats the purpose for me. For any tasks that are better performed with a keyboard or mouse/touchpad I have a laptop. I would never try to replace my laptop with an iPad. To me they are two different tools with different strength and use cases.

I have an iPad Pro 11" M1, and I use it 99% of the time without a keyboard (I sometimes connect an Apple Magic Keyboard if I really have to).

For me, it's an entertainment device only - so I don't really do serious stuff on it since it can't do most of the stuff I need it to do, plus, the things that I can do on it, are inconvenient in comparison to using my MacBook Pro. It's a good device for streaming services though :)

iPad 3rd gen. No keyboard. Original owner. Still in use. Battery is still pretty good. I charge it every couple of weeks.

I have an 11" M4 iPad Pro and use it as a tablet about 99% of the time. I use my 14" M3 Pro MBP for any typing that's beyond a few sentences not just because of the keyboard but Microsoft Word and the operating system allow for an easier and quicker flow when it comes to word processing or using spreadsheets.

I use rhea Magic Keyboard with my iPad Pro simply because I like using the trackpad to navigate and I don’t like typing using the onscreen keyboards. I use my mini without a keyboard. I did buy a few keyboards to try out with my mini but ultimately decided to just use is as a tablet.

Having had various iPads over the years, I've never felt the need for a keyboard. But then I treat my iPads as consumption rather than creation devices. For my purposes, I do very little inputting so the on screen keyboard works for me.

No keyboard, in the field, shoulder strap case situation. Access drawings and documents.

I’ve never used a keyboard with my iPad. I’ve owned iPads since the first on day one and have always used it strictly as a tablet. And since I’ve only ever used the onscreen keyboard, I can type on it almost as fast as I can on a physical keyboard.

I use my M4 iPad Pro in an Apple Folio, and it suits me perfectly.

I have three Macs, if I need to do some heavy typing.

I bought a tablet, to be a tablet. No interest in using it as a laptop replacement.

What about you?

I don't care about iPad and only time I take out iPad is when my kids take some online classes.

iPadOS is still too limited to me and I have no interest in using iPad just as iPad. If all I am doing on iPad is tablet thing, an Amazon Fire Tablet can do.

I rather use underpowered 12inch Intel MacBook than M4 iPad. A M4 iPad with iPadOS is pointless.

perhaps to you but clearly not to a lot of others, including myself.
Clearly. So many people find an iPad useful rather than a laptop. It fits a niche and is extremely successful because it does for a large group of users.

Some people seem to forget that other people with different wants/needs exist.

Still cannot understand why would anyone use iPad for any serious of work, when it cost as much as a MacBook Pro (when includes all the accessories). iPadOS is just as restrictive as iPhone.

iPad for tablet purpose, the entry level iPad works just fine. M4 iPad is overkill and just waste of money.

What usefulness of iPad? I get it is portable, an iPad with keyboard case is just as heavy as a MacBook Air.

I give the regular iPad maybe have some usefulness as secondary devices for content consumption, that is what iPad's usefulness stops.

Never understand why people wants to video edit, creating CADs design on iPad, when macOS or Windows is infinitely more useful than iPadOS

It's clearly not for you; don't worry about the rest of us for whom it works.

Mobility, not locked to a desk. Beyond that, as I stated, it has usefulness as a media consumption device.Anything more and I use my MacBook Air.
