So its been a few months, and now the iPhone 7 is looking to be not quite as exciting of an upgrade as we thought. The design is likely gonna be pretty much the same; the camera is looking to be the only feature that seems exciting to me; also waterproofing, if it does indeed happen. What does everybody think now?
based on rumours no i will not get the 7. Not willing to pay £800 on a minor upgrade that will look the same. Will wait for 2017 and see.

Bought a S7 edge recently and loving some of the features we will see in 2017 now.

Depends on the price. I may hold on to the 6 or grab a 6S. If the headphone jack disappears on the 7, I'll definitely wait for the 7S or whatever they call it before deciding to upgrade or jump ship.

Been doing some thinking and I definitely think I'll be sticking with the 4.7" size. The camera upgrades on the 5.5 sound awesome for sure, but not worth the extra size of the Plus, at least for me. I still want one handed use.
So what are everyone's thoughts on the 7 now? We've seen (maybe too) many leaks recently....

I got a iPhone 6 and I want a Plus but not with that unnecessary huge bezel so I will probably wait another generation and hope for a redesign

Anybody who has a 6, but particularly the 6s+ owners...and wants to hold onto their phone another year (to wait for the the rumored ip8 in 2017) because the ip7 is "too little an upgrade"...I think it's partially a fool's errand.

(I'm assuming also that the headphone jack is a non-issue in your consideration.)

But have at it...

To be fair I will probably end up getting every years

I have the iPhone 6 Plus and i'll be buying the iPhone 7 Plus, the 3D Touch, Live Photos, and the camera will be a big jump if the dual camera rumour is true. Those features alone i believe are worth it. Apple will probably add something else into the mix tho.

I agree, the extra features of the 6s will be worth it for me, and then I'll get all the new features of the 7. Either way will be an upgrade from my 6.

I have an iPhone 6 but not sure I will upgrade to the 7. It is still performing quite well, and the rumored lack of a headphone jack in the 7 definitely is the exact opposite of appealing to me. I might upgrade to a 6s if the rumor turns out to be true though.

Bottom line: I might upgrade, I might not. But I want to see what they offer before I decide :)
Pretty much the same for me. Have a six, kinda want a 7, but the no headphone thing is not appealing. Only difference is I'd probably go for a SE rather than a 6s if the 7 disappoints.

I picked up an iPhone se yesterday as I finally found them in stock. The 64GB space grey. It's a very very fast phone. I'm gonna try and stay on this phone until September when I'll get the 7Plus... If not I'll make it back to my 6s Plus ...

However at this moment this is a VERY VERY blazing device

Have you experienced any stuttering or lag on your S7 Edge? Is Marshmellow pretty stable now? Thanks.

Been flawless, no lag at all. Even with plenty of widgets that could slow it down.

My S6 last year I felt was laggy but the s7 edge? Smooth as anything. Samsung have really stepped their game up pretty much in all areas.

Cool beans. I've really been torn considering buying one. I figure S7 Edge now and iPhone 2017 later.

I don't see where paying $750 for a minor spec bump is a 'fool's errand'. Apple needs to raise the bar. There hasn't been one rumored upgrade that makes the iPhone 7 a meaningful upgrade. Event the items being rumored for 2017 (wireless charging, OLED screen, smaller bezels) have already been implemented by Samsung.

Minor spec bump from a 6s (assuming the rumors to be true). Not from a 6 or earlier. But then, the 6s itself was a minor spec bump from the 6. The upgrade from one year to another is never overwhelming, except maybe 5s --> 6/6+, just for the screen size.

I should have maybe gone to more details...

What I meant is that a lot of people are on 2 year ownership cycles, whether because of their plans or from past buying habits.

The inclusion of 2gb ram was one of the major reasons why the 6s/6s+ was a significant upgrade, particularly for the plus owners. I wouldn't want to eek out another year with a 1gb phone if I were a 6+ owner unless you really had to or are a very light Safari user (because that would be 3 yrs total between phones).

I don't think I am going to get the 7. I need to stop buying phones. Last Sept I bought a 6s+, gave it to my
niece and bought a Note 5 in November. Then in April I bought the SE, and this month I bought a used 6s+ 128GB
from swappa because I missed the 6s+. I alternate between all these phones. The SE I use when I'm going to
be working in the garden all day, fits in my pocket well.

In all honesty with the iPhone SE as cheap as $399 which is a full $250 cheaper then the iPhone 6s with basically the same specs... What does that say about an iPhone and it's specs? You get top
Of the line specs for $399 because it's a 3 year old design? But that design is more beautiful then the design of the flagships?

What I'm saying is spec bumps is all we ever get... Which is why Apple put flagship specs into the SE... Because they wanted it to sale... What's the point exactly of buying an iPhone 6 or 6 Plus anymore ... Exactly??? When it's $150 more then the SE? Which has better specs??

The specs of the SE dwarfs the iPhone 6 in EVERYWAY...

If they remove the headphone jack I might just get a discounted 6s and camp out there for a few years. At least until the rest of my gear catches up.

Well with iOS 10 on my iPhone 6 running very well, and with basically all of the features, I'm not really all that excited about the 7. I want 3D Touch but I could just get a 6s for that, but then again if I'm getting a new iPhone may as well get the newest one; will see. However, definitely not as excited as I was. Seems like the 7 will be very incremental, with faster processor and improved cam as always, and a slightly refined design with no headphone jack for waterproofing improvements.
