Curious why no one is going for the GLAS.tR SLIM instead of the Nano...it is cheaper and if anything more protection.

I just received and installed the Glas.tR Slim because the Nano not yet available in UK for couple of weeks more. As a first glass screen protector, I'm very happy with the look n feel of the product and like the idea. However, the slim is not that slim to be honest. It has added weight to the phone and the home button feels very recessed. Though the home button and touch ID works flawlessly. It just feels strange to dig finger into the recess to press home button. May need sometime to get used to perhaps. However, the product is perfect if it can be thinner. Hence expecting that Nano will be far more lighter and thinner. Can someone who has used both slim and nano please shed light on your experience and compare both please.

Glass T Nano is .03 mm slimmer than the Nano TR Slim ( and cheaper)...I'm going to go for that along with the Tough Armor ...

Glas.TR = 0.53mm
Glas.TR slim = 0.40mm
Glas.TR nano slim = 0.23mm

I've had all three on phones. Lived with the .TR for the longest, then switched to the slim on the iPhone5 for a few days just prior to getting the 5S which has gotten the nano slim.

The TR was pretty much just plain too thick. It NEEDED a button sticker in order to be usable. The SPIGEN aluminum stickers worked great, leaving the button slightly below the level of the screen. It was also thick enough that it messed slightly with screen sensitivity in my use, but not enough that I was willing to give up the rounded edges.

The TR slim brought the aluminum button pretty much to the level of the screen. Pretty much perfect. If you were going to be using it on a 5 with the aluminum button I'd stick with the TR slim.

The TR nano slim is very thin. With the rounded edges it feels thinner than the plastic privacy screen protector I had on before it. The rounded edges keep it from feeling weird to touch the button given that it is a little bit deeper now. There is a very tiny border around the metal ring (1/3mm or so) when installed properly. I've had absolutely no problems with TouchID now that the protector is on. Screen sensitivity seems unchanged. Maybe I'm getting better at it, but installation was much easier. Even with having to reposition it once or twice, I have full adhesion with no bubbles or gaps anywhere.

I'll try to take a picture, but it's tricky.

Highly considering cancelling my order on Amazon for the Nano Slim...

I havent had a screen protector on my phones in a long time, and I can't justify adding bulk on the screen. Anyone that can chime in with some opinions?

I am confused between the Glas.tr.nano slim and the Glas.t nano slim. Is it just that the tr has rounded edges? Does the $5 is price make it worth it to go for the tr?

I'm using mimes feather glass. It's only 0.15mm.

+1 The mime at 0.15mm doesn't require the round edges and I don't see it chipping in the near future. Also the touch ID works perfectly it creates a slightly deeper cradle for your fingers which IMO makes it easier to scan.

I just ordered the Glas.tr nano slim. Now I just have to wait 2 weeks for them to get in stock.

Didn't wanna wait so i bought the glass.tr slim 0.4mm and i like it... Installed in less than 5 min and really doesn't add any bulkiness to the device... And yes touch id works exactly the same way when i didn't have the screen protector on... 0.23mm nano.tr is my next purchase, since i already dropped my phone today and there is a small chip on the glass nothing alarming but want my glass perfect!

How does it feel compared to other Screen protectors? Does it seem strong enough given that its one of the thinest around?

Glass TR NANO SLIM is thicker than the GLASS T Nano Slim by around . 03 mm (0.23 mm vs .20mm)..The thinner (est) TG screen probably do not need the CHIP-RESISTANT additions (such as T_R - rounded edges) due to the fact that they do not protrude as much from the main screen. Chipping will probably be less of an issue if you use a case that has a fairly good lip...

Just my 2 cents...

BTW: I am seriously considering the MIME Feather, as it is cheaper and AVAILABLE, whereas one has to wait till the 16th of this month before Spigen gets its stock of Nano TR's

Finally got around to taking a picture.

cant wait for mine!

it finally shipped yesterday after a week pre-order!

hopefully I get it on monday as we are both in CA

is it just me or did you do a pretty damn good job lining up the home cut-out with the home button? :)

Alignment is pretty critical. Since the thinner glass is more flexible I found it a little easier to work with. Even had to reposition once or twice, then pull up one end to get a hair out. Much easier than the 0.53 was to work with.

After having has a non rounded edge glass before these, I wouldn't go back. Even with the ultra thin glass. The rounded edges make it feel even better than the plastic ultra clear I had on it prior to this, as with the rounded edge the apparent size of the hole is larger and you finger just drops in along the curve instead of feeling a sharp edge.

Really want the Nano Slim but I keep hearing that the finger print senor is slightly affected. Anyone want to chime in on this? Don't want to spend $40 if it's going to screw up one of the main features I use. Thanks.

How would it affect the finger print reader in any way? Some critical thinking could of saved you the time in making this thread.

As far as the MIME for those who have it any chipping issues? I guess at that thin it will still be covered by the leather apple case I'm using... Gonna buy one to check it out. I'm typically a bodyguardz guy but it's worth a shot.

Excuse me? Critcal thinking? First off anything that says "For the 5/5s" raises concern. And second point to that is I didn't own a 5 so I didn't know if the home button is the same size so if the cut out would be different.

This thread has helped a few folks in here, if you don't like it then don't post in here.

I was trying to decide between the Spigen TR Nano and the Mime Feather. Couldn't decide. Was thinking about waiting for the Spigen.

Then another thread here at Macrumors mentioned the iloome Screenmate Flex. It was fairly cheap ($16 I think) and super thin so I bought one.

Punch line = I love it!! Man - it's so thin, doesn't feel much different than no skin. Feels real smooth and clarity is great, and I feel better about not having to worry about scratches. Definitely recommend putting that on your consideration list.

There is an opening for the home button. with this opening how can it possibly affect the function of the print reader? So yes, some critical thinking (there is a giant hole in the protector over the home button) would of answered your question for you. PLUS the "for 5/5s" shouldn't raise concern, it should put your doubts to rest as it clearly states for the 5 and 5s. Unless you believe every one is lying to you about everything why would you not believe them?

I posted in the thread related to your topic. I obviously said something that you are upset about which baffles me but oh well. I actually picked up one of the MIME protectors on the advice of others that posted, good luck on your choice.

.....And on this advice I picked up one of their flex and regular glass protectors. $41 for 2 glass isn't a bad price, thanks for the heads up.

The Glas.tR slim Nano is currently the best glass protector for the 5s IMO.

While any one of the thicker protectors work just fine, it leaves a noticeable deep tunnel around the Home button. Some folks don't mind it at all, but for folks who do mind, the radiused edge (e.g. "tR") can make the effect less bothersome. The other solution is a Home sticker button which can raise the button. Spigen has the foresight to include some jelly buttons but you can also purchase aluminum ones that look pretty nice, too. My iphone 5 looked really elegant with the tR slim and the black aluminum Home button.

Then came the 5s with the finger ID Home button which pretty much precludes use of any adhesive button.

Spigen was ahead of the game and produced the Glas.tR slim Nano which is very thin. I now have it on my iPhone 5s and I couldn't be happier. If you take the time and care to install it and align it properly it's really a great protector. The subtle radius makes a difference around the home button and it doesn't make you conscious of the existence of the protector every time you use it.

IMO it's the best option on the market for the 5s simply because it's so thin and has the radiused edge around the home button.

In my experience the Spigen protectors have been pretty tough and durable. I can't compare them to the competitors but I can't imagine how much better a protector could be.

Get one.

It is available. It's just on backorder. I ordered it weeks ago as a pre-order through the Spigen eBay store directly from the company.

Because of the long wait Spigen even sent a free set of crystal screen protectors to cover me until the Glas.tR slim Nano shipped. Great CS!

This.

The radiused edge around the home button makes all the difference. I had a plastic protector on before (the element privacy shield), and the edges on even that were annoying as heck. The radiused glass feels so much more natural to touch, even though it's slightly thicker. No matter how thin the protector is, I can't imagine using one without rounded edges now, especially with touchID and having to swipe in from the edges of the screen. It's not about the chip resistance, it's the feel.

My wife has ordered the Nano Slim TR for her 5 that would replace the Glass T she had on. I have ordered the MIMI feather for my Iphone 5S as i did not feel like waiting for the NANO TR. The feather is cheaper and thinner (0.15mm) but does not have the rounded edges. I'll do a comparison between thw two when i get my hands on them.
