The title assumes that one switched from Windows and the only switching option is to move to Windows.
No, the title assumes that one has used Windows (as a main OS) and asks if one ever thinks about once again using Windows (as a main OS).

The IT guy said it was going to be from HP and 'sleek'. Other than that I don't known what it will be. Touch screen on a laptop seems ergonomically incorrect to me. Switching between keyboard, track pad and screen seems awkward. But I'm willing to give it a shot.

Ummm, about 7/10 threads in the macbook section are about problems too. I use Windows and Mac, both have their strengths and weaknesses. Anyone who swears by one over the other because "it's better" is probably just better with one than the other, and mistakes their fault for the computer's.

which is what I said

I interpreted what you said as the title of the thread assuming there are only two operating systems that one can switch between: OS X and Windows.
Did I misinterpret you?
what about those that never switched how can we switch back. How about those that switched from Linux the will not be "switching" back to Windows. The title implies that we all came from Window which isn't necessarily true. As an example I used my parents Apples through school, then used linux in college, then back to Apple in 2000 or so. Window's has never been my primary OS therefore I could switch back. I switched back to Apple once.
Then you're not included in the target group for this thread, simple as that. Just as a vegetarian wouldn't be the target for a thread called "Do you guys ever drink wine to your meat?". What you think the title assumes is simply stating which group of forum members this thread is aimed at.
It could have might as well been called "To those of you who have previously used Windows as a primary operating system and is are currently using something else, do you guys ever think about switching back to Windows?"
I also wish scrolling and switching between application windows wasn't such a chore.
Back to Windows? Nah.
To Linux? It's getting more and more of an attractive choice as time goes on. I use Linux for development, and recently it became more and more pleasant to also use as an everyday OS.
I agree with this. Linux with Gnome 3 is just about on par with OSX when it comes to a full featured, easy to use, and really quite slick interface. The only thing I'd ding it for is that it's still a little overly difficult to install programs if you're not grabbing it off a repository, or it's not packaged in a .deb file.
Plus Linux is still very, very weak when it comes to 3rd party support. It's better than it has been previously, but still doesn't offer up anywhere near the huge amount of choices you'd get on Windows or OSX. This is the one major reason why I ran back to Windows after my great nerd experiment about a month ago. I like the OS and all, but there are some programs I just can't live without.
I was a beta tester for Windows 8 about 3? years ago. I actually wrote on my review that windows 8 would more than likely bring down Microsoft. They have fixed tons of things since then and it is significantly better, but the outcome of that beta test was for me to switch over 'fully' to mac os.I'm getting a Windiws 8 laptop from work next week. I'm interested to see how it works out.

Never. I have no need to.
