Yeah, mine has a tendency to get stickered up. I have two small kids who think it is very important to make sure Dada's laptop looks its best on all occasions. And what better way to make a laptop look good other than plastering it with dinosaur, angry bird and power ranger stickers when the old man isn't looking?

No decals on mine (I do like them though) but I do have a "shell".

Too bad the shell is not smooth plastic. Otherwise, I think I would have added some cool decals. :D

As I've asked in the Macbook Air forum and had no joy as it's always a ghost town over there do any of you lot know which brands are decent for a rugged shell for a MBA? Speck's don't look tough enough for this chassis and this is for an auto workshop and needs full protection, even the keyboard...

Thanks for all the compliments! Makes me proud to own this shell! :D

Gav Mack: I think it's quite tough for your requirement.
Auto workshop makes me think of heavy tools, grease and all. It'd be tough to protect an MBA, worse still, the keyboard...

Alternative solution will be to use the MBA in clamp shell mode? Plug in external monitor, keyboard and mouse. Then contact with the MBA should be reduced to a bare minimum? Just a suggestion. ;)

It's going to be carried around by a inspector for an annual auto MoT test we have over here for vehicles safety in the UK.

So rugged and nothing slippy. Might have to go MBP route which have more rugged options than the MBA.

For me, that just defeats the purpose of the Macbook.

It delegates all of its aesthetics. People think that they are personalizing their laptops. They think that by adding these silly stickers or buying these colorful case protectors that their being unique in some way.

News flash: It's not. It just devalues your Macbook. The Macbook's look is known for it's simplicity. It's only in the finer details that separate the Macbook from it's competition.

you need to tell Apple that cause they made a commercial highlighting the individuality of its Macbook users with decals
