Yes, and I shall have to edit my original post to also mention the entertainment value of watching the Coffee brewing, and boiling in the clear plastic enclosure...!
Hopefully in journal form.

At work, I don't even bother with the drip stuff. I have a personal-size French press that I use.

I like my Moka pot, but when I'm feeling "serious" about coffee, I always go with the French press because I don't have the equipment and expertise necessary to make espresso correctly.

This Is A True Story.

I've been looking for a French Press and a travel mug for quite a while. I preferred the travel mug be Starbucks brand, simply because I had one before and it was great, but I got rid of it since I seldom used it (I got a bad style and it wouldn't fit in my cupholder). So I'm looking for another one.

I found at a yard sale a mug that was both in one: French Press built in to a travel mug and - wait for it - was also Starbucks. I picked it up for a mere $2.00. Works great, smooth cup of coffee, beautiful. I was amped at the find.

True story.

melrose: I find that if I leave the coffee in the French press, it gets too astringent at the end, so even with the personal size French press I always pour it into a separate cup.

@Daveman: Yeah, I agree with you about leaving the coffee in the press for too long (I've made that mistake before when forgetting I've poured it in there... then remembering like half an hour later.); My coffee seldom lasts over ten minutes ;) I prefer my coffee fairly strong as well, so it seems like it just gets better the less there is in the mug.

I thought a French Press made good coffee until I received one of these as a gift recently. Best coffee ever!

I have one of those! It's great, although the dang pump is a little too loud, IMO. But it's great if I'm in a hurry to get out the door, and need a coffee to take with me.

If you're in San Francisco, go to Blue Bottle Roasters sometime. I ordered an espresso macchiato when I was there in December and it was heavenly. My dad said the same thing about his decaf mocha. By far the best coffee that I have ever had the pleasure of tasting. The baristi there REALLY understand their craft.

I had to take a Java Programing class for my EE Degree and out instructor drank about 5 cups of coffee during class, we all used to make fun of him saying he was so good at Java because he drank so much of it. :D

I drink coffee for purely social reasons. There is nothing like meeting people for coffee at a coffee place like Starbucks.

french presses are a bit meh for me. i find them too weak. i love a strong, full bodied espresso. any idea how to make it stronger? using a moka pot is a bit of a chore ay?

WOW! i wasnt going to believe you there for a minute… but you sure showed me :D

I love coffee. Freshly ground/roasted, and made with a French Press . . . mmmm.

Though I am quite addicted to a good cup of Yorkshire Gold English Breakfast Tea, or a nice Earl Grey. :)

I started drinking coffee every morning before work.
Now that I'm off in the summer, every now and then I still get Dunkin Donuts iced coffee - light & sweet.

Interesting calling French press "weak". I think that you're probably nearly alone in that opinion. The Moka pot is actually much easier than an espresso machine, but it doesn't really produce the same kind of coffee as you get out of a "proper" espresso machine. It's still quite good for my tastes, though.

^ a French Press is where you add ground expresso beans into boiling water, wait a while and then press the knob to filter the grounds right? ive tried that and i found it weaker than a Moka pot and i even added more grounds. in a Moka pot i add four teaspoons.
