I'll wait for Apple to announce the new iPhone 6 first to see if it will meet my needs at this time. If not, I am more than happy with the 5S that I just got and will simply wait for the next iPhone to come out.

Hmm...disappointed in something that doesn't exist yet.
#firstworldproblems much?

Anyway, I'm looking as far as the iPhone 6. That's what I want to see so I can finally replace my iPhone 4.

I don't live my life constantly on my phone, so I don't care about no '1 GB of ram'. I have other things to do.

I don't even think twice about my phones specs. I don't, I just use it.

And yet, you're replying to a very specifically titled thread on an Apple rumors forum....;)

But seriously, OP, if the 6 doesn't end up having what you want, try something else maybe. You can always come back!

Maybe the millions of iPhone consumers, don't buy on spec...they buy on capability.

No, they buy on "Oooh, shiny" and :apple:

----------

But when and if I buy the 6 it's going to be based on what it can do, not the amount of internal ram.

What it can do depends a heck of a lot on the amount of internal RAM.

My iPhone 5 still "works". I will keep it until that situation changes. I do not plan on upgrading to iOS 8.

1810 mAhr? 1 GB RAM? So frickin' disappointing.

I can't go through 2 more years of charging my phone at every opportunity to make it last through the entire day and of course Safari tabs 'reloading' which is one of the most annoying things ever.

Please don't give me any crap about - "wait till the iPhone 6 is actually released before making any assumptions" - because we all know leaks have been pretty much spot on the last couple of years.

So who here is looking forward to the iPhone 6S and beyond?

You have two options.

1. If the iPhone doesn't meet you needs, buy a different phone. Why keep waiting for the iPhone of your dreams when there are already phones with more RAM and better battery life?
Android is a very impressive mobile OS that can actually do a lot of things that iOS can't.

2. Ease up on your phone usage. I've never understood how people struggle so hard to get through a day on a full charge. And I have to say, while I love my Nexus 7 tablet which happens to have 2 GB of RAM, it doesn't run any smoother than my 5s.

i have Samsung note 3 and iPhone 5s both, note 3 has 3gb ram but its always full whenever i really need its hanging and also after clearing the ram it not work properly, iPhone 5s only have 1gb ram but really its good enough for me. so iPhone is great compering to other devices even it have 1gb ram.

More than internal ram a concept of a paging file would help.

Then we would just go from Safari reloading tabs to Safari being dog slow and extremely unresponsive when multitasking or hopping between lots of tabs. While it might be marginally better in some cases, I'm pretty sure that it would not be a very widely appreciated solution to a problem that is caused by Apple being overly cheap on hardware.

I have no clue about reload tabs...doesn't happen to me. I am also fairly sure apple has fairly well tuned phone to the o/s and the usage. If RAM is so cheap, why don't android devices have 8 gig and really raise the bar?

I'm not saying more ram isn't welcome, but there will always be those on these mobile system, who exceed the hardware no matter how much memory is installed.

Having a paging file and being "dog slow" and "unresponsive" might be better than some who are experiencing "reloading tabs".

As I said elsewhere, based on past performance, most people expect a ram bump. I would think between 1.5 and 2 gig. Anymore would be an astounding feat by apple.

I don't have the charging woes that you do and I don't worry about Safari reloading often, either. iPhones have been like this for a long time, why haven't you gone to a competitor that has more RAM and a larger battery? Is it the OS on other devices that you don't care for? I'm seriously very curious. Have you considered a battery case to alleviate the battery woes?

In previous releases, the RAM is always upgraded on non-S models.

Interesting... That being the case I bet the 6 will have 1.5GB or 2GB of RAM. I can't see the iPhone sticking with 1GB of RAM until 2016, but maybe the 6 will have 1GB and the 6S will break the trend and have a RAM boost.

You can get the phone of your dreams right now. Today. There are so many great offerings.

Apple makes an OK phone, but hardly the best. Samsung can't possibly ship out at this volume rate and make a good product. Look elsewhere and you can find gems.

Leave Apple to Macbooks and Tablets. Don't get phones from Apple. When did the iPhone not disappoint?

From 2007 to present-day for me. I realize there are some nice phones out there with better "specs" in some cases, but I've tried quite a few of them and they always disappoint me.

This. The iPhone has consistently just "worked" for me, and it does everything I need it to, and it does it well. I've had a few Android devices in the past, all with hardware problems (the software was great, I do like Android too!). With Apple, you're almost guaranteed a good product.

Overall, never?

I don't need crazy specs in a phone. I'm someone who like to have the very best and I'm typing this on a late 2013 15" rMBP that is 100% maxed out. I'm not going to go to another brand for more power, I want iOS 8 (Continuity!), the App Store, Apple's ecosystem etc. Those are the things that make me want an iPhone and I'd lose all of them of I went to another brand to gain more power that I doubt I'll want until around the time I'd be getting a new phone anyway.

I'm a little curious what the update could even be.

If 4s = Siri
And 5s = Touch ID
Then 6s = ??

...something functionality/hardware based that doesn't alter the form factor. Wireless charging? Something power-related would make sense. Haptic feedback ain't gonna cut it.

So give up your smartphone and you won't have to deal with these constraints. You almost certainly won't because you already love it way too much. Perspective.

While you're examining your perspective, maybe realize that others' are different from yours and that, maybe, just maybe, it's legitimate to comment on the suboptimal aspects of objects that one still finds useful enough to own.

"Be completely satisfied with every feature and spec of your phone or just give it up" is certainly one perspective, but it isn't the only one. Perspective.

It could be the perennial rumor, NFC.
