TheSpaz - is this in reaction to people to get your own blog? Just do it. Get your own blog and/or domain and post there to your hearts content. Want to really have fun? Turn of comments so no one can flame you either. Up to you.

But there's no reason to create an additional site just because you don't care for the fact that the domain name has the word MAC in it. I know it must be very frustrating for you to have to see that in your browser window. MAC MAC MAC when you want it to say APPLE APPLE APPLE.

Would you even have set up this poll if the site was called AppleRumors.com?

However, it might be a good site to send the banned members and other less desirable members (and I don't consider the OP to be one of those, before anyone suggests it). :) It could be a site where everyone just bitches at each other. And no mods!

And the difference would be what, exactly?

Oh no, it's the big bad samcraig! Listen, I don't care that it's called MacRumors, but this site is hardly about MacRumors lately... there's a LOT more iPhone rumors than Mac Rumors.

I realize that there's www.macrumors.com/iphone but what if someone doesn't want iPhone rumors at all, so they go to "Mac"Rumors and get a bunch of iPhone rumors. Is there a www.macrumors.com/mac page?

It's probably not such a good idea after a few people brought up the complexity of maintaining 2 sites and redirecting people and losing hits on MacRumors.com.

Take it as it is... it was an idea suggestion... I'm not hell-bent on it. Just curious if people would like having a separate iPhone site controlled by Arn. T'is all.

Thank you.

Edit: TUAW has a feature on their site where you can turn off iPhone news and just view the Apple-related stuff.

TheSpaz -

The reason why a lot of recent entries are iPhone based is because there's a lot of iPhone news going on right now with the newly released 3GS.

There's not much new NEWS in regards to other mac products because that's just the cycle of news. When Snow Leopard is released and when there are new computers hitting the scene or whatnot, then macrumors will no doubt be computer biased vs iphone news biased.

Things ebb and flow. But that doesn't mean a news site should break from a winning formula.

This!

Things are fine the way there are.

Applerumors.com maybe would be a better name but I'm sure that would result in lawsuits.

If memory serves me correctly, arn did consider changing the site's name at one point, but MacRumors is too well known as a brand. Personally, I wouldn't object to having three news pages (All, Mac, iPhone) if it reduced the complaints.

Have you tried visiting that site? ;)
