New updated MacBook specs:

Aluminum case
Centrino 2 CPU's
Intel X4500 Integrated Graphics
LED screen
DisplayPort
DDR3 RAM

Well, that's what I hope for. But if the update is imminent (within 2 weeks) we should have already seen more rumors/signs.

It won't have DisplayPort, but everything else is virtually guaranteed.

If they do release the new macs, will there be a price drop in the current macs? I am looking to buy one, no rush though, and would like to get the best possible price. I am fine with the current plastic look. Thanks.

Hey i think im going to buy a Macbook if a new one doesn't come out on the 9th but was wondering if something with my Macbook were to go wrong would i be able to trade it in for a new one?

Just buy it now with the back to school promo (assuming you're in america). Then sell off all the free goodies. Can't get a much better price than that.

If something goes wrong and they can't fix it, then they would replace it with new generation one(if it is still under warranty of course). I have had many friends that got new Macbook after 2-3 years because Apple couldn't fix their Macbooks or it would cost them more to fix it than replace it.

is it possible..

is it possible we will get new Macbooks, or something Mac computer related on the 16th? I mean, they could release the info and specs on Tuesday, and allow pre-orders or something, and make the official release date the 16th. The 16th will be a Tuesday, and its the day after the back to school promo ends. I hope so, i been patient trying to wait for a new up on a macbook.

I have decided that I shall be buying one next week unless they announce updates on the 9th.

I'm only getting the basic model and will upgrade to 4GB from Crucial. I don't need to wait but can get a lot done on it before they announce new models.

I got a new blackbook when the back to school deal started. I could of easily waited. I just hate aluminum. I love the plastic.

We're in the minority but I agree with you. I got the Blackbook in June and was planning to give it to my wife and get a new one after the upgrade. But now I'm pretty sure I don't want to be on the bleeding edge if Apple introduces a whole new design. So I'm debating on whether to pull the trigger on another Blackbook before the 15th.

I got a plastic one, mainly because the aluminum design just gets old. I've been using it since September 2003 when I got my first PowerBook and every day I'm at work. Besides, the free iPod is worth it.
