I wonder how the resale value is if the phone has applecare. Wouldn't it hold its value pretty well considering you cant get applecare unless you buy it initially when its brand new?

Lets say I was a buyer of an iPhone 4s a year from now. AT MINMUM, you would get a $50 premium over any used iPhone 4s out there (if you haven't used any of your 2 replacements). I truly believe smart people a year from now buying used iPhone 4s would pay $70-$80 bucks more so they have the reassurance of getting a brand new phone once they throw the used one they just bought in the toilet, and pay the extra $50 deductible.

Why would anyone buy a used iPhone 4S out of the one year warranty that doesn't have applecare?

I will be getting AppleCare on all my future Apple purchases:

iPhone 4S, 27" iMac and iPad 3 (when launched)

So far only have the iPhone 3Gs and it has converted me. Just been saving money for the iMac $3,000 been harder to save than I thought :(

I'm just getting a personal articles policy from state farm. $20, covers loss too, done deal.

I'm a bit clumsy, but I have managed to go over two years without breaking my 3gs. That's due in part to having a good case on it. I sure would like to go case-less... and I wouldn't have to spend 40 bucks on a case, so there's that. I hadn't planned on buying it, but I also didn't know that they offer accidental damage coverage. I think I've about changed my mind. It sure would be nice to be less worried about breaking the darn thing.
