Well, right after the opening of WWDC, I am planning to visit Washington. And if by then MBA 15 inch is available, I might be tempted to buy one. Currently, I am a happy owner of MBA m2 but bigger screen intrigues me. Other than, probably specs are similar and maybe MBA 15 inch has a higher specced M2, which I'd be happy to have but it is not a deal breaker.

Hi everybody,
I am considering buying a MBA 15 inch. Just waiting for the specs. I hope it can be equiped with 32 Gb Ram and a fast Cpu, also need 1 Tb Ssd. Otherwise going for a MacBookPro 16 inch.

Best regards,
Schnitzel

Washington D.C. or Washington state? If state, and the device is available, you may want to make a detour to the Portland Oregon Apple Store to purchase the device. Oregon does not charge sales tax and that could save you some money. Is your time, and travel money worth the savings? That is up to you.

Sorry, it is dc

Been doing a lot more graphic design work lately and would buy a 15-inch MBA for this purpose. The work I do (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop) all runs pretty nicely on my M1 Air, so I don't really need the power and expense and weight of a MacBook Pro. But at the same time I would love to be able to spread out a little more on screen. The upgrade to an M2 or M3 processor would probably be all the speed bump I need.

Yeah my feeling too. A bigger screen would be nice. Dont need pro power

Gonna buy 1, then most likely, gonna return it within the 2-week return period if it doesn't meet my needs.

Already have an M1 MBA that was also purchased on Day 1 and has some middling battery life now.
How many battery cycles on your M1 MBA?

I plan on it, I have a M2 MacBook Air and love it, but would love the extra screen size, especially in the MacBook Air form factor. I am hoping it starts at $1399, I would love to get a 1TB/16GB Ram model.

What's funny is the announcement is when we are on vacation in DE. Do they open sales right after? If the price is right, I'll be like lets head to Dover on the way home.
Hopefully that’s the case. Sometimes they open preorders Friday the same week for item to be delivered the following Friday.

Instant buy for me. Bummed that it will likely come with 256/8 for the base tier, but that's to be expected.

I had the base M2 Air since launch until late 2022 when I started getting back into more web design work and the 13.6" just wasn't cutting it while traveling. Switched to the 16" M1 Pro and while mini-LED and ProMotion are nice, they still don't wow me to the degree the thinness of the new Airs did every time I used it.

Pair this thinness with a larger footprint and it's going to feel incredible on the go - can't wait for more details on Monday. Only decision I'm torn on now is going with midnight again or jumping ship back to silver.

The battery section in the Settings app says that the capacity has diminished down to 89%:

If the screen is better quality wise than on 13" M2 Air and the price is right then I'd like to get one in 16/512GB combo or higher.
If not then its 16" M1 which costs probably about the same as 15" Air would cost with the same ram and ssd combo.
Or neither 😃

You might be in luck with the 32 GB (I assume you mean GB and not gigabits). Micron is showing a 128 Gb (gigabit) part on their LPDDR5 page which would be a 16 GB part. On the MBA with 2 LPDDR5 chips that means 32 GB total. The only problem is that the 128 Gb part isn’t showing in Micron’s catalog. But if it is near availability then Apple is likely able to get first dibs.

If not then the 24 GB option should be still available.

I'm moving from Windows Lenovo Thinkpad X1 and only reason I'm going for 15-inch Air is so it's a comparable weight. This will be my only laptop I own but it's sufficient for my needs - web browsing, Office applications, zoom - basic stuff. Any reason you feel I would be dis-satisfied with it? I'm fairly happy with the Mac Mini basic edition so far too

thanks for the info, yes it is GB; i´d like to use Logic Pro, 24 GB should be fitting that ? sounds good that 32 could be available; well, we will know more on Monday

I would love a 15" MBA but I will wait until they put an M3 chip in it as I already have a 13.6" M2 MBA. I don't find the 13.6" too small which is odd because I generally like larger screens.

The other thing I am worried about is the extra weight. I find the current air to be just about perfect in terms of weight to size ratio.

All that being said when the M3 15" MBA is released then I will buy. Of course who knows maybe all the rumors with M2 are just that and Apple will surprise us with M3 15" MBA? That would be pretty cool!!

Other then screen size, I guarantee you, the specs are identical to the existing MBA. Just with a larger screen.

No difference.

I will see what’s announced today at wwdc (UK time) but I’m very interested in a 15” MacBook Air. I have always loved the look of the 13” M2 MacBook Air, however I want a bigger display so this may be perfect for me.

If they release it in that midnight colour it would be cool :)
