Anyone else who's not into the whole christmas thing?

I'm not religious, and I'm not into the materialistic side of Christmas.

But I do enjoy a day or two with the family.

Otherwise, it almost bothers me. Wait, actually, it does. Mainly because my town is a major shopping hub for people in Northern MA. (tax free sales up here) Anyhow - 5 minute errands become 40+ due to constant gridlock traffic, usually from Friday after Thanksgiving until mid-way into January (when the gift certificates and exchanges are finally done)

Also, I feel it's more personal to give gifts / remembrance of friends and family at special times. (with them) Using Christmas just seems watered-down, IMO. (as everyone does it)

I'm wHierd.

I'm starting my retreat away from celebrating Christmas after this year. It's not so much me, I don't care, but everyone else in my family celebrates it, so I can't just not get them stuff. When I have my own family, I'll probably replace Christmas with some more personal family tradition.

I never celebrate it. I used to wish I could take part in a big Christmas shindig but now I'm quite happy treating it as any other day. I do enjoy seeing others enjoy the holidays.

I kind of wish i wasnt right now lol. I am having a christmas eve party in my house and i've spent so much money on gifts and such its ridiculous. my living room looks likes santas workshop right now.

I always like a day off work... no Christmas for me, but 'tis nice for a day off.

I sleep in, get up 'round 7:30-ish, start the coffee, turn on my notebook, check my eBay, email, MR, etc etc. Hey, wait, that's how I start every day... hmmm...

Xmas is a time for getting together with family, not about having a materialistic OCD fit (despite what the major retailers have been hemorrhaging into us for years...), and I will be celebrating it. :)

Going to have lunch with the in-laws but besides that no real celebration. Instead I've got four rounds of golf booked in with friends in the space of 8 days which I'm really looking forward to. Golfmas :D.

Being one of the chosen people

My family got together this past Sunday. Xmas eve I'll head out to moms for dinner. Xmas Day, I have no plans. Might just couch surf all day. :D

I still exchange gifts with my family, but that's it. There are no Christmas decorations at my house, only a Festivus pole. As a protest to the over-commercialization of ALL holidays, I leave it up year round. ;)

Christmas is overrated. My family gets together and has a brunch. Thats my favorite part. But the aunts and uncles (me and my sisters & bro) buy for the nieces and nephews.

I'm a Jewish Atheist (Jewtheist!) so I'll spend the day at home doing nothing. I've got 2 movies from Netflix and a few more recorded on my DVR to keep me occupied
