Yup, the one the poster is talking about is open 24 hours.
Coincidentally, it looks like they wont be open that day specifically to ready for the Apple Watch lol:

Yikes. I lived in Manhattan years (many years) ago and was amazed at how completely closed down the whole place was by midnight.
Depending on what you want and where you are, there's a chance you could pick up a CTO option at a local Apple Store?
Interesting. Makes sense for them to close to change things for new product switchovers. I remember when I was in NYC during a hurricane, they were one of the only places open. And it was packed. Never did go in there overnight though.

Manhattan closed down by midnight? Sounds like you were in a different part of Manhattan than I was.
On the other hand, I love the store at Grand Central. I went less than 2 months after it opened, and was so stoked to do so. It's my favorite Apple store that I've been to, much more impressive than the one on 5th Avenue.

OK, Apple announced that Watch pre-orders go live at 12:01 AM Pacific on the 10th. So I would assume that's when the rMB will be available for purchase as well.

A likely safe assumption. It's not launching with the fanfare of the watch, so they're likely not going to put out a press release for it, haha.
I do hope they have an in-store pickup option for the MB tho.
It's actually a little odd that they've got dates all over the Watch pages and nothing specific on the rMB pages. I'm not even going to think about getting uptight about it, but it's sort of odd.
So,
Just went to the Apple Store. I'm like a lot of people I suspect, debating Macbook vs less portable 13 inch Pro (Air and it's non-retina screen not for me).
Asked the Apple store employee about if they've heard when it will be available on March 10th. She said it was interesting how March 10th is the presumed date of availability but it is nowhere to be found on the Applestore website and she hasn't seen any documentation of it on that date either from Apple. Was it in the Keynote?
Seems odd they'd put it on sale at the same time as the watch=disaster/headaches?

I think the exact wording from the keynote was "shipping April 10th". So maybe it's not in stores to buy April 10th? In any case, I'm going to go to my local Apple store during the weekday the following week to take a look at it myself. I hope it'll be less crowded than the weekend of April 10th.
I think most of us think the answers are yes, but no one really knows. Is the NYC Apple Store really open at 3AM?
