I am currently using an iPhone 6s and I just upgraded probably about a month ago from my 5s. The only reason that I upgraded was that the battery on my 5s wasn't lasting to long and it seemed to drain and go down all the time when it was in standby. I tried restoring it and everything else and the battery was still going down. I installed a battery app and it said that it had 780 charge cycles on it. I even went to my carrier and they restored it and it still was going down. They also tried some other things to it and it still didn't make a difference. I decided then to upgrade and I was torn between the se and 6s. I was considering the se because it was cheaper and I absolutely love the form factor of the 5 series. I decided to go with the 6s because of 3D Touch and how much iOS 10 relies on it and I figured that future versions of iOS would rely on it too. I also decided to go with the 6s because of the increased color saturation and the bigger display. I am happy with the 6s and feel the screen size is just right for me and hope to get quite a few years out of this phone. I really loved the 5s though and it didn't feel like it was slow on iOS 9 and it was a great phone. I still have it and if my 6s battery completely dies or something happens to it, I might try going back to it before upgrading again.

I just moved from the 6 to the SE a couple of days ago. It's nice to be back to the smaller form factor.

I recently switched from a large screen phone to the SE. There something extremely nice about the screen size. I prob end up going back to larger screen in the future but for the time being enjoying phone size.

I still have the iPhone 5 that I installed iOS 10 beta on. It's fine. It's not any slower than iOS9. The only jarring thing is the double click on home button to unlock since the 5 doesn't have Touch ID.
The iPhone 5 is still a highly capable phone thanks to its 1GB of RAM. The only thing is it's the it's the last supported 32-bit iPhone. We know it's going to be dropped soon, but it would be sad if Apple dropped it simply to focus on 64bit.

Especially with enough RAM and SSD.
I have a 2012 Macbook Air that is still running like a champ. The only problem is its aging battery.
Probably IPhone 5 will be dropped next year or no. Who knows Apple ?Since the 4s got IOS 9 , I won't be surprised if the 5 get IOS 11

I can't stand the sluggishness when new iOS versions come out. I can only imagine how slow the 5 is at this time.
I've got a 5c on iOS 9 (for international trips) and it runs surprisingly decent.

Dad uses my old iPhone 5. His phone is just as snappy as the day I bought it (tbh, it feels snappier than my iPhone 6). Granted, the iPhone 5 is still running iOS 6. :p

He was supposed to get my iPhone 6 while I upgrade to the iPhone 7 but with the recent AT&T trade in promo, I'll be getting him an iPhone 7, too. Still can't decide between 32GB and 128GB. He only uses a little over 7GB storage but for less than $5 a month for 128GB, it feels stupid not to get the storage bump.

I was using a 5 and didnt think its unusable for one moment but knowing that its a bit slow. And then mu company lend me a 5s and I think this phone still got least 2 years in it.

Sometimes I like to randomly plug my SIM card into one of my older phones as a kind of nostalgia..

But in the end I can barely stand using the iPhone 5 for a full day, usually switch back to my six in a matter of hours...

EDIT: tried white iPhones once but didn't like it at all as you can see :)

Between feeling better in my hand and fitting in my pants well, I'm not sure I'll go back.

I'm using the 6+ and the wife is using the 5. I am getting the 7+ this week and the wife is torn about wether she wants the 6+ or not.

On another note I would love to see a working Original/3G or 3GS out in the wild. Anyone seen one recently? I have one in my drawer but would love to encounter someone actually using one unironically.

I have a 5s and it does all that I want at any given time. I have to say this though: my primary use fort a smartphone is...phone. I Know I'm into the less than 1% that still use the phone capabilities. I'm no Instagram Facebook, Twitter this Twitter that user. So that makes me a dinosaur, But a very happy dinosaur with a beautiful compact iPhone 5s.

Was set to upgrade from 6S plus to 7 plus. Second thoughts now after preorder site issues.

Using a 5S right now. Only because I sold my 6S+ to get the 7+. But this phone still works really good for being 3 years old. It's my backup phone.

I'm using the 6S plus and I've preordered the 7 plus. Then there is my mum who is still rocking her iPhone 4 which she got in 2010. She's been eligible for an upgrade for years but never ''gets round to it'. I think she's just going to keep using it until it stops working.

iPhone 6, and my next phone will be an Android. Apple isn't innovating phones like they used to and it's becoming pretty stale. I wish I was as excited over iPhones like I was back in 2010-2014, but it's just so boring now especially since they aren't even trying to innovate the design changes anymore.

What do you like that android is doing?

That's the thing. The A5 chip was gasping for air since iOS 7 onwards, so its retirement is long overdue. The A6, on the other hand, is still performing well, even with iOS 10. It would be sad for Apple to drop support for it simply because they want to, not because of its capabilities. But yeah, I think iOS 10 is the last iOS for the 5.

For people, changing appearance yearly = innovation.
Building a chip hat runs around the latest snapdragon? Meh, that's not innovation. But animated wallpaper and changing SMS bubble colors, now hats innovation. /s

5.

Why is the 6S on that list? As of this moment it is still the hottest phone seeing as the 7 isn't in the hands of the general public.

I figured I would cover my bases since people are going to start considering the 6s to be old shortly, and a lot of MacRumors users probably use them rather than an older iPhone.

Of course it's nice to see I'm not alone in using an older iPhone and not just as a backup while I wait for my upgrade.

A6 Will be dropped because it's not 64 bit!. That's the only reason to drop it. Maybe iOS 11 will dropp iPhone 5 because of that
