my 4S just died. gonna get a new one soon but not the 7.... 5s, SE, or 6s depending on price drops.
That's what I was saying. On the other hand, the chip is still quite capable. It managed to survive the transition from iOS6 to iOS7 and now running iOS10 fairly well. It would be sad if the only reason it would be dropped off support is simply because it's not 64bit.A6 Will be dropped because it's not 64 bit!. That's the only reason to drop it. Maybe iOS 11 will dropp iPhone 5 because of that
So next year, probably will be IPhone 5s and newer. iPad Air 1 and newer. Do you think the 5s will slow down on IOS 11?That's what I was saying. On the other hand, the chip is still quite capable. Nice to see "old iPhone" users on this forum
Rocking 4s at the moment, for my daily usage it cover everything with no problems.
PS - In real life only hand full of people around me changing their phones every year (or second year), the rest holding their phones till the end (dead or broken).
iPhone 6, and my next phone will be an Android. Apple isn't innovating phones like they used to and it's becoming pretty stale. I wish I was as excited over iPhones like I was back in 2010-2014, but it's just so boring now especially since they aren't even trying to innovate the design changes anymore.
I've got a 5c on iOS 9 (for international trips) and it runs surprisingly decent.
Dad uses my old iPhone 5. His phone is just as snappy as the day I bought it (tbh, it feels snappier than my iPhone 6). Granted, the iPhone 5 is still running iOS 6.
He was supposed to get my iPhone 6 while I upgrade to the iPhone 7 but with the recent AT&T trade in promo, I'll be getting him an iPhone 7, too. Still can't decide between 32GB and 128GB. He only uses a little over 7GB storage but for less than $5 a month for 128GB, it feels stupid not to get the storage bump.
Completely agree. Coming from iPhone 5 with iOS 6, it was quite jarring to suddenly start getting stutters on a release date iPhone 5s with iOS 7. Reduce Motion helps but none of the iOS versions after Ive took over has felt quite as smooth. Just too much eye candy. Perhaps enabling Reduce Transparency might help with the microstutters but then everything looks like crap. The UI just wasn't designed with opaque windows in mind.iPhone 5 on iOS 6 has got to be the fastest and most optimised iPhone + iOS till this day. This synergy has got to be one of the best Apple has ever rolled out.
On Verizon, it's worth $400 trade-in (over 24 months) if you get an iPhone 7 on DPP. Alas, not much help if you want the SE.My 5s is 3 years old and working great. I will probably go to an SE for the HD voice feature. But, My 5s is so worthless in trade, I'll milk it a while longer.
