Taking the entire day off to: 1) Perform iUP for the wife's 7 at an Apple store (first morning time slot) and, 2) Sign for my 7+ when the UPS dude steps onto my front porch.

I work right around the corner from my UPS hub, I'll be heading to pick it up as soon as they open like I've done the past few years.

I am taking a half day at work Friday and will leave work around noon. UPS typically doesn't show up before noon... and definitely not on an iPhone launch day. I'll work for a few hours, grab lunch and then come home and chill on the couch watching daytime TV while waiting for my package....

(EDIT: I am taking half day of PTO... so I am getting paid for it)

Why not just have it shipped to your job? That's what I always do.

I took a vacation day for Friday. This happens every year and I have a boss that understands that iPhone launch day (and sometimes Diamondbacks day games) are valid reasons for taking a day off. :) HOWEVER, the phone I have reserved for me for my re-up of the IUP isn't what I want...since zero black phones were available for reservation for existing IUP members. So I'm not sure what I will do yet.

Nope. I'll be busy dealing with the mass hysteria that is an iPhone launch. Gotta love selling cell phones. Not to mention, I'm not losing 8hrs in my paycheck for a phone...even if it is the Jesus phone. But if my phone delivers on launch day, I will be using my lunch break to drive home to get my phone Lol

Same here.

Also down THREE BB Mobile associates and have to use BRAND NEW hires in the mobile department because my DM doesn't give a damn about brand new employees actually knowing how to USE the system properly...all he cares about is if I'm utilizing the issued labor:mad:

I had taken the day off... until my preorder took an hour and I got a November delivery date. Now, I'll likely be going into work and will take the delivery date off instead.

Ha, dealt with a similar issue for the iPhone 6 launch. Newbies on a launch date? No thank you. Only thing I'll have them doing is mainly hosting. But actually doing activations, yeah if you're not experienced in bbym...I rather just do it myself. Just clicking the wrong button in bbym, can cause a downward spiral lol. And my schedule for Friday is insane Lol
