I don’t think that 3 years and 6 weeks at the oldest counts as almost 4 years old. 😛

He counted the year it was release, i guess?

Still, 3 years is a long time in smartphone tech world. Seeing that it’ll support iOS 12 down the line, everyone in this thread seems to be getting their money’s worth. Swap a new battery and you got yourself a pass-me-down phone that can be used by a younger family member for 2 more years.

Had been using my 6 for the last 3 years and need to upgrade now,due to the lag. Will be ordering the X to see f it suits me. Did order a 8+ and tried that for 2 weeks but thought it was a little large, carrying it in my pocket.
Had a feeling the X will be a bit of a compromise between the two.

Upgrading from a 6. Ready to get rid of it for the X or maybe a used 8+ if the X is back ordered for months when I preorder at midnight pst.

I'm on the 6+. In May i bought the 7+ but sold it after 2 months because honestly, other than being a bit smoother/faster, i saw no perceptible difference based on my usage behavior.

I got the 6+ around 2.5 years ago. It was a great phone, except in the past year i've been dealing with bendgate and touch death (it is definitely real). I'm absolutely ready for a new phone and hoping that i am one of the people who are able to get an X at launch.

16GB iPhone 6+ here. Thing is super slow after upgrading to 11 and the battery about 30-40% worse. Every app I open does a full reload for some reason too which is super annoying, so looking forward to the new power of the X.

Will miss reach-ability.

Pointless thread, as many will be (but its fun)...

I have the 6+ so I am due for an upgrade. I don't like the price, but I can afford it and I don't splurge much on tech (other than my rMB 2016 which was discounted anyway).

So, to those who still rock the 6, 6+, SE, or older, this is clearly a big upgrade and are you jumping for the X? I have been on the fence between the s8+ or the X. Clearly I can snag the s8+ for cheaper with better tech, but the software might be something to get used to (customization is great but the stabilization of iOS is also great).

So, with several hours to go, I have a big decision to make. Just seeing if anyone is rocking a 6,6+, or even an SE making the big upgrade? Again pointless, but a lot of people I see on here are already on the 7 or even 8.

Whatever you decide, good luck!
Yes me! iPhone 6, got it around December 2014. Closing 3 years now. Can't wait for tonight

I intended to upgrade my iPhone 6 to an 8, but Verizon offered a great deal on the 7 so I got the 128gb version for $549.

i've noticed this to. Plus the battery is about 3 years old and so is the chip. Apple has stopped selling the 6, which likely means that they knew it wouldn't be able to handle iOS properly and provide a good experience.

I have ordered The New iPhone x, It's better choice for it, But is an Expensive iPhone and it has lots of new features who everyone know about those.

Like I said in an earlier post, this may be just iOS 11. I've read a few posts where 8 users are having issues. In other words, you may still hate iOS 11 😀

Im experiencing the same thing on my 6+, and am also getting an X, but I'm being prepared for issues, just in case

6 plus here. This is going to be very tough for me to decide. I feel like i might regref if i don’t wait for rumored plus version....but i need one soon...gaahh

I'm on a iP6 since launch day and i'm ready. I was set on the iPhone 7 when it came out but the features were again minimal for me and my iPhone 6 was paid off (purchased on a 2yr contract) so i didn't want another payment (att next for the iP7). at the time my iPhone 6 still performed fine. shortly after a few more iOS 10 updates it started to slow down significantly and was very noticeable (even worse on iOS 11).

then the battery started going to crap where it only lasted a couple of hours earlier this year. I still wanted to wait for something to wow me. the iP8 i thought was OK and glad the X is being released. I wanted something new, different and shinny as opposed to the same design as the iPhone 6 (iP7 & 8).

for the mean time early this month i opted to replace the battery myself since it got really worse and couldn't last 30mins and unreliable. went with the cheaper iFixit route as opposed to apple doing it and did it myself. very easy and love the battery life. almost made the iPhone 6 enjoyable again and revitalized iOS feel for me.

can't wait for tonight. have always pre-ordered through apple with no issues.

so get an X then sell it before the X+ comes out? Seems simple to me, that's what I'm doing. If I had the choice between the 2 i never would get the X, i want that 6.46 inch OLED screen

I’m not an annual iphone buyer....
Neither am I. However, Apple private resale values for their phones are incredible (in Canada at least). Assuming the phone is not a major bust, you'll get 80% of the value easily if you sell around August of next year and keep the device in mint condition.

Got 6 on launch day. Really feeling the lag on it now. Trying for X tonight. If it's backordered too much, will consider getting the 8.

I'm upgrading from an iPhone 6, I got my 6 in a pre-order when they first became available, it's still in perfect condition and is working well even with the newest iOS that it has been updated to so I'm going to give it to my Dad and get myself the X since I haven't had a new phone in awhile.

I am, and I can't wait. My iPhone 6 has become a brick with iOS 11. Keyboard is 2 seconds late, Apple Pay never activates at the first shot, etc., etc...

The IPhone 6 is a good phone for what it's worth, but I agree, iOS 11 seemed to slow it down, especially with 1 GB of RAM.

I agree, mine is definitely laggy, its quite frustrating as its an essential tool for me for work all day long.

Like others, I want a smaller handset, I'm kind of over the Plus size, but I do want the better camera. Ive never kept a phone as long as I kept the 6+.....I'm definitely ready for the change !

I really haven't noticed much lag when upgrading to iOS11 with my iPhone 6. Admittedly some app's are more "jittery" and a bit more sluggish than before. But overall, I don't really have many complaints about iOS11. And have noticed no difference in battery usage either.

I got my iPhone 6 on launch day. And have been very pleased with it. It is easily the most reliable and trouble-free smartphone I have owned. That being said, I can see where it's useful days are numbered. I can probably squeeze another year's usage out of it. But would rather make the switch before the phone starts becoming flaky and unreliable.

I am really looking forward to hearing actual users on here get their hands on the iPhone X and post their likes/dislikes about it.

This is my feeling and iPhone I have, an old 6 that's still working great--just want a new gaget !
