IHeartsteve, here's what I did:
Turn off iPhone.
Place a drop of rubbing alcohol on the home button. The alcohol will seep under the button. Press the button numerous time, maybe about 30x. Drop another drop of alcohol and do the same thing. I guess the alcohol will loosen the gunk under the button. I haven't had a button problem since! This is after the Genius at the Apple Store told me that my button is no good and suggested I use assistive touch or buy a new phone. Thank goodness I just needed a couple drops of alcohol!

I was set on getting the iPad 3, however realizing there is not going to be a capacity update and the fact I already have what is essentially a mini-ipad in the form of the ipod touch, I decided to get a different tablet instead because I really couldn't justify shelling out the asking price for what would give me just a bigger screen and a faster processor.

Like other people in this thread. my iPad2 is still working well for me, so there is no need for me to get the iPad3. At least not right away. OVer the weekend, I did temporarily upgrade my iPhone from 4 to 4s and had buyer's remorse right away and returned it. I'm going to wait for the next gen later this year. I figured if I do that with a $200 phone and am still happy with the 4 that I have had for almost 2 years, why do I need to upgrade my iPad that I have had for only a year and paid over $700 on? If anything I would love to upgrade my PC if I could afford it.

Ohhh I see! Thanks for the detailed response. I think my iPhone for whatever reason gathers a lot of buildup also. Lol

How long did you let it dry for?

Waiting for the reviews, any possible issues with the new screen, maybe pick one up early summer, I just bought an Asus Prime and I want to save a few bucks before I buy an IPAD 3

I don't currently have an iPad - but have been considering the iPad3 - but I will wait to see the pricing - if the iPad2 is significantly reduced in price I may well go down that path first.

Thanks!

Thanks iamartimus! Fixed my annoying home button right up!

I won't be. I had the iPad 1 for about 6 months and just couldn't see a use for it.

I'll keep an eye on how the iPad evolves, but I can't see it being something I'd find useful for several years.

No need to let it dry. After doing it, and noticing that the button is working good, just wipe the phone down and you're good! After a few month, my phone still works great and I still only did it on that one occasion.

I really want an iPad 3 just for the Retina Display. I currently have an iPad 1 and it still works decently. It's hard to justify the price but I reserve my decision until I see all the details tomorrow. There's just so many questions I have.

How will older apps look on it? The first apps that I ran on the iPhone 4 looked awful until they got updated.

How will comics / magazines look now? This is a big selling point if they enhance the clarity because of the new display, however, microscopic text is a concern I have.

I have more concerns but meh. I can wait 24 hours and I'll likely want to see it in action before I really make up my mind. Isn't that what a good consumer is supposed to do?

The Apple TV refresh will be a day 1 purchase without question. Provided it's still a $99 hockey puck and not a full blown TV set. I already have one and need a second one but they're all sold out now heh.

My iPad 1 does everything I need it to do. I'd like to upgrade, but it will take more than a retina display to convince me to spend the money.

I agree here. I have a 4th gen 64GB iPod touch so it seems a bit pointless to upgrade my iPad

I just got the iPad 2 for Christmas, and I love it, so there's no way I'm going to upgrade. Still excited to see what we get though, and I'm sure I'll know someone who gets it so I'll be able to check it out eventually. Maybe next year. :)

Given Apple products have a good resell value anybody with the Ipad 2 could upgrade easily.

I updated from Ipad 1 after only having it a month to Ipad 2. You really notice the difference.

The Ipad 2 will be fine for alot of people though but if you can upgrade for about £100 - £150 after selling your Ipad 2 then it's great value.

However I was one of the people who updated from Iphone 4 to 4S and seen little difference other than a worse battery. Camera is quite good though..never use Siri so really the Iphone 4 is a good enough phone. I like the latest gadget though.

At first I was very excited but I am starting to.... Anyway, I am not going to rush to preorder it. I think I'll make my decision a month or two after release date. Apple's first batch usually have some sort of problems anyway.
