I occasionally connect the optical drive to load some cd's but that is it. No monitors, mice, etc.

I usually only use it solo as well, but I do enjoy hooking it up to my 40" Samsung sometimes just for fun.. but 95% of the time, nothing but solo. It's a joy to use all the time.

I used to have a whole setup with an HD monitor, magic keyboard & mouse, speakers, etc. for a while. But I decided I didn't need it so I sold it all. Now I just have the speakers and an external HDD. Works fine for my needs.

11"

Don't want to spoil the party, for one I use my 11" 85% external. :) MagSafe and Mini Displayport are easy to connect and disconnect, and the keyboard and mouse are wireless. The 11/i7/8GB/256GB works like a laptop and desktop merged together.

I use it solo a lot of the time, but more often than not, there's a pair of headphones plugged in or a USB mouse for some gaming.

My main use is on the run which means nothing connected or just an external mouse. This is the reason I bought the MacBook Air.
It works great but the few times I have hooked it up to my main monitor it have of course been a lot easier to do certain things but I don't feel limited in any way using it solo.

I kept having to remind myself that this solo discussion centered around an Air.

Mine is totally solo. No need for anything attached to it. I have a portable hard drive that I keep handy for off loading photos, but it's only plugged in when I need it. It's such a lovely, light and portable machine; I see no need to attach anything else to it.

Solo user here..

MBA 13 2013 model

Usage - Internet + Videos/Movies + Web development + Take On-Screen video tutorials + (low level) Video editing*

*Adobe after effects, Final Cut Pro etc works in MBA. But it takes long time to render + drain the battery quickly. Although MBA is officially not ideal for Video editing :p

Using mine solo now, I have an imac for office use a 15" retina for work and my air is for playing.

Most of the time, I use mine solo as well. Occasionally, Skype headphones (or my B&W headphones for music) are plugged in, and sometimes, obviously, I'll use the optical drive if I want to rip or burn a CD, or watch a movie.

But, most of the time, it is solo; and often, during the day, it is solo without its own Magsafe, sitting on a table or my lap, working for its living as it was designed to do.

I have had a MBA for three years now, and, as I travel a lot and need to write a lot, this is a computer that meets my work needs, (uberportability, fast, powerful with a good screen and a terrific form factor), I will say that it is easily the best computer I have ever had.
