This is not going to be a popular post, but I am still going to make it. I honestly think this delay is going to result in a lot more people deciding to return their watch. When you expect something on a particular day, and that expectation isn't met until a month later... It needs to offer a mind blowing experience. I'll keep my watch, because I'm a sucker for the latest and greatest... But as big of an Apple fan as I am, I'm already a bit let down by the watch after 2 days. At its current state, it's just an accessory to the iPhone, that doesn't work nearly as well as the iPhone. Maybe the will push some updates out before the majority of you guys receive the watch, but I'm still predicting that this ends up being one of Apples most returned products. I think you will see these being sold as refurbs at a discount sooner rather than later.

I understand your thought process, but unfortunately that just isn't how logistics on a scale this big work.
.Me too, but at the same time, how could they have possibly had sufficient inventory? This was completely unchartered territory for Apple. I honestly would have thought the silver Sport watches would have sold the best. I didn't think the space gray would sell very well and I sure didn't think anyone was going to pay so much for an SS (which is one of the other reasons I picked the SS...I thought I was going to get it sooner because I assumed everyone else was buying the Sport). I can see how it would be difficult to guess what people were going to buy.
I don't buy stuff I want to show off to others. I buy stuff I want because I really want it for myself so I can personally enjoy it. Unless it is a gift, I am buying for another person, I don't care what anyone else thinks of what I buy for myself. So when I get that watch on Day 1 or Day 100, I'm gonna be using that watch and putting it through its paces like crazy. If someone asks me about then I'll show them. If no one asks then that is of no consequence to me because Im buying it to please me and not to keep up with the Jones. The excitement of getting that watch is still very much alive for me and I can't wait to get my hands on it because I really want it. Now I'm disappointed that I didn't get it on 4/24 and I may have to wait until 5/8 but in the meantime I'm learning all I can about the watching from watching videos, blogs, user guides. I will know what to with that watch as soon as it arrives. And I look forward to that.
LOL. I have this one.
! I hated the 4 icon set up lol
SO much drama on here about some not getting there watch already.
I can wait for mine by the 8th.
I sent this email to Tim Cook and didn't get a response yet. It might be because I forgot to put my phone #:
Hi Tim,
I have been a loyal Apple fan since the original iPhone as well as a shareholder and one of the things I look forward to once or twice a year is spoiling myself on launch day with a new Apple gadget. As a grown adult with children of my own, it's the Holiday time of year where us adults can act like kids and become impatient, excited and impulsive. I truly believe there is an emotional high that Apple fans get on launch day that cannot be replicated elsewhere.
Just like thousands of other fans, I was up at 3 am eastern on April 10th to pre-order the Apple watch which I did at 3:04am as fast as I possibly could with TouchID and the Apple Store app.
I ordered the 42" Stainless Steel with Black Sports Band and little did I know, this model would be one of the hardest to fulfill. As I watched others on the public forums get their orders shipped even though their order times were after mine, as well as others who ordered different models that originally had June as their shipping date get theirs as well, it became apparent for the first time ever, Apple failed it's most loyal customers.
Apple really did a poor job of communication and inventory with this release. We all make mistakes and I am hoping you can see how and why these mistakes were made so they can be avoided in the future.
I look forward to the day I receive my Apple Watch, however that day should have been launch.
I'm also in CA with a 12:04:52 email (I beat you by 2 seconds)
It seems that Canada has had :04 and later shipments beginning, but us Californians (maybe USA?) haven't hit the :04 mark yet. There were some shipments today to CA that made it all the way up to about the middle of :03.
As for predicting when this will be, we aren't really sure. The next shipment tomorrow should cross into the :04 territory, and it may be us, or we may need to wait another day or two since we are at the end part of that minute. People are gauging these daily shipments are covering approximately 30 seconds per batch at this point. So I think your guess of getting charged and preparing for shipment in the next 48 hours is reasonable, but optimistic also. Let's hope.
Mine just hit Chicago, where I'm at, 10 minutes ago
Stop trolling man. If you have no problem waiting the. Why are you here? Go and wait without posting here.

In the U.S assuming they are going in order what minute are they currently on? My confirmation email came at 7 minutes after midnight.

We are approaching 4 minutes after midnight.
Would you guys guess they are averaging a minute per day?

I'm not trying to start a flame war here but some of you guys are blowing things out of proportion with the emails to the CEO.
I'm disappointed just as much as you guys are that I didn't get my watch on release day, all of us following this thread are. The problem is when we all clicked that button to place our order it clearly stated 4/24-5/8 and it's only 4/26 for most of us. If many of you are right, they are going by exact order time and it doesn't get much more fair than that IMO.
The communication was unclear since we knew they would start delivering devices on the 24th, but they clearly stated "some" not all were going to get them on day 1. Even though the BSB has felt like it was put on the back burner, we're still nowhere near 5/8 promise yet.
I think they should have prepared better and given more distinct information, but they still haven't failed on any of the promises they have made. Many of us compared this launch to others and expected that we would still get them on day 1 and chose to ignore that we we're given a two-week range for a reason. I blame myself for my disappointment since I was overly optimistic about getting it early when it was never guaranteed.
I wish you all the best and hope we all receive some good news soon though![]()
No, either you misunderstood or I stated it wrong. I COMPLETELY buy this for myself; I'm going to be the one using it day in and day out. But part of the FUN of receiving something like this on launch day is the part of people asking about it, wanting to see it, wanting your opinion, etc. Do you think that people camp out overnight for iPhones because they just can't wait to get it home and play Angry Birds on it? Of course not...they want that satisfaction of knowing they are one of the VERY first people to have this product in their area. Even when I got my iPhone 6 on day 2 (because they closed the line early on day 1 and I had to come back), I still enjoyed looking at people in public and seeing who already had the new phone. So no, it's not only about others, but that's a part of it.
It's like buying a new car. You buy what you like in the color you like it in. You do it for yourself and to make yourself happy. But you don't drive it home and put it in the garage; you drive it around town to show it off, and visit anyone you can think of because you're proud of it.
