Most likely.

Simply sell your iPhone before the WWDC or rumored media event, and you'll net just enough (if not more) to purchase the new model.

This was the first year that I wasn't sure I was going to. And then I bought one on launch day. So yeah, no matter what I tell myself, I will get a new one every year.

As long as something new keeps coming out, I will always sell the old and get the latest.

I didn't buy the 3G. When I got the 3GS I gave the wife the 2G and we're on a family plan. She's eligible to buy again in November from her old sony/ericsson, so as long as nothing busts or gets lost/stolen I could get a subsidized phone each summer if I wanted.

The big reason I didn't get a 3G was because we didn't have 3G service here then and didn't want to pay an extra $15/mo for nothing. Plus we had a baby on the way. And also I was still sore from paying $600. If that situation was all different, I probably would have, so I could see myself certainly upgrading each summer.

depends on what they offer.

Although I've owned every version of the iPhone so far, I agree with this.

I love gadgets (probably too much ) so whichever device has the "coolest" stuff, that's the one I'll end up with. I was strongly considering the Palm Pre but it's on Sprint and I prefer GSM phones. Hopefully the Pre won't tank too bad so I can see Palm put their WebOS on a better phone.

well...

If I have the money to burn then I will but doing it every other year is not that bad I just upgraded from my 2g granted the service is MUCH BETTER with a 3G connection but I do have other responsibilites. or if I can sell it for a good price then also yes.

Who plans on buying an iPhone every year?

once i get a free upgrade in novemeber for a 3gs, that's it, I dont need anything else, just the odd upgrade and tomtom when it comes out, and i can say I am happier than I have ever been with a phone.
