I have never understood the wireless keyboard without the number pad. This whole era of style over substance is so stupid. I read a post on here the other day where some guy was complaining that the iMac was too thick and how they could (and should) reduce the thickness by 50%. I just don't get it. Just because something can be made smaller doesn't mean that it should be. Today was the first time that I have ever seen the newer keyboards without numbers. I didn't like it at all. I heard two other people talking about them and they did not like them either. Are you listening Apple?

re: wireless keyboard w/no number pad

I suspect it was an attempt to reinvent the original Mac Plus keyboard:

It, too, lacked a number pad.

I agree though.... it's not something I'm much of a fan of. If nothing else, it should have been sold only as an alternative option to a full-sized one. It looks really strange having that small a keyboard right next to a big 27" iMac display, IMO.

Thank you. I did not know that.

I spilt coffee on my wired aluminium keyboard :(

Im currently using one of these as a replacement:

I cant wait to get rid of it, its so clicky and noisy and I dont like the tall keys. I plan on getting a new wireless one when I finally decide I can afford it, although I understand people do find them impractical, I don't make use of the numpad I have and the batteries dont really bother me. I just cant wait to have an aluminium one back.

I use the tall white one from my old Mac Pro. only thing I don't like about it is the way it shows dirt. Would trade quick for my old black G4 keyboard. My aluminum one is still in the wrapping... along with all the Apple mice.

I will never go back to the old style keyboard. I have yet to find a keyboard that I can type faster on than apples current aluminum keyboard. I also love the feel of it more than any other thing I have tried.

I used to prefer my the Apple current gen wired keyboard with the num pad, but since getting the wireless one for work.

I think i prefer the smaller form factor .
