I’m loving my graphite but I’m seriously considering the gold. Never gone a non black but my god it’s beautiful.

Huh? First world problems???
Nooo, it’s called having a choice …
Returning an item do aesthetics is not unheard of… as long as I’m within my return window I can exercise that choice! And not feel the least bit guilty!

Phone color does matter, hence why there are numerous colors to choose from 😂😂😂
Unless you’re trying to take us back to the old days! “You can have any color you like as long as it’s black!” 😅😅
I’m sure apples big costs are fixed and their VC would be low comparatively.

When you return a phone to Apple.com for an exchange, i.e. different color, do you go to the end of the line again for the new phone?

Yes, unless bought in store and they have stock of the colour and storage capacity you want.

It reminds me of a 96 maxima I used to own, the color would switch from silver to purple depending on the angle…
So weird. I see more gray. Glossy cement gray. Kinda like this new grey color on cars? Personally, I think it’s an awesome color.

a first world problem meaning artificial. not really a problem. Having a new iPhone is an expensive luxury in most parts of the world, and first world would be returning it just for a different color.
In the grand scheme of things yes it’s insignificant…. But, why should one feel shame for doing so?? I pay good money, I should get what I want. Apple doesn’t have an issue with it. 😂😂

i agree! i think its awesome apple is so easy to exchange with.

I went the opposite way… I preordered the graphite, because I thought the sierra blue looked too baby blue and feminine in the pictures (I know that some people in here don’t like the terms masculine or feminine when it comes to colors, but that’s how I felt). But, when the graphite came, I discovered that it was exactly the same color as my graphite 12 PM (I was hoping for a somewhat darker variation). So, I returned it for the sierra blue, and I couldn’t be happier. This looks so much more like a new phone, and the blue is absolutely gorgeous. I don’t think I’ll go back to graphite again.
Oh I wanted graphite though
Find the tone of SB too light for my liking
Would prefer the pacific blue on 12PM
But heck,I am lazy to setup the phone again and don't wish to make some loss of $ over colour

Same here!!

I figured this would be a good time to try graphite …. Nice conservative color but didn’t really wow me, which is why I always wound up putting it back.

I read your post and remember thinking “is this guy serious??” …. 3 weeks later I wound up doing the exact same thing! I exchanged my graphite for SB and couldn’t be happier with the color.

I debated so hard between Graphite and Sierra Blue. I ultimately went with Graphite.

Blue is my favorite color. But it’s too light of a blue for me. I have the Pacific Blue now, and its perfect. If the shade was closer to the 13 Blue, I would’ve went for it.

Through each generation I’ve had 3 of the Black/Space Grey. The 3G, the 5S, and the Jet Black iPhone 7. Every other one was White/Gold/Silver. So it’s not familiar territory for me.

The SB is weird though, it’s not actually that blue, more of a steely grey. It’s stunning! Personally I don’t like the PB, it’s too dark for my taste

Was your decision based on the promo pics of SB or seeing it in person?

Most of my family or friends who purchased the ProBlue last year were disappointed in how light it ended up looking (some of the photos made it look a lot darker).

I am rather shocked they went even LIGHTER when the only thing I was exposed to was people wishing it was much darker.

Just goes to show a world exists outside our own personal bubbles. I do wonder how big of a survey /focus group apple uses before they decide the colors each year.

I did not get the SB because it isn't light enough. If it looked like it does on the Apple landing page, then I'd get it in a heartbeat. In reality it only looks that bright and light a blue under glorious sunshine. Indoors, it tends to look a sickly greyish shade of blue.

This is what I keep saying. To me it’s gray. Lol. But I think it’s a good thing though. Some see blue. Some see gray. All those who like what they see will be happy. I love the color myself.

Not physically in person. Looked at promo shots, watched multiple reviews on different lighting, watched comparisons between the Graphite and Sierra Blue.
Same here , initially.. then went to AT&T and Best Buy and still didn’t like it. So I took a chance and picked up a 1TB SB phone to bring home and compare directly to graphite, and bam! It clicked 😂😂. Gave the graphite to my daughter and kept SB!

I know… my case is rather extreme 🤣
