I think the iPod Touch will be discontinued by Apple. And replaced by the iPad Nano or whatever.

uh

i have an ipod 5g 16gb, and its already at iOS 8.3...... it has already updated 4 times, and the other thing is, the ipod has to get the new update there for the ipod will not get any games [install] bc those games would need the suporting update to function the games /or/ apps, so im pretty sure the ipod 4g willstay on iOS 6.3 and the ipod 5g will probably move up to iOS 9 because apple already said there will be a likely chance of no more ipod touches because of reasons with people not buying iphones, but ipods and the reason for that is because people are buying ipods and turning them into phones basically because, theres apps for that. lmao. aish, sillehamnida, anneyhoso, you guys can believe what ever, but im just saying, if you wanna tweet me about this im@danisnotonfire have a good day.

I realize that this was originally a speculation thread but I thought I would mention that the 5th Generation iPod Touch will be a supported device for iOS 9, via the Preview link on Apple's website.

It isn't over yet!

Time to speculate.
Part of the decision to purchase a mobile device is based on the support you expect to receive in the future. Apple just announced a new/updated 16Gig iPod Touch with two cameras. The question is, will this new iPod Touch run the new iOS 9 next year? If so, could anything possibly prevent the older iPod Touch 5s from also running iOS 9? Will any iOS devices with the A5 CPU or higher be able to run iOS 9 next year?

What do you think Apple will do?

1 year ago: Everyone that thought devices with an A5 chip wouldn't get iOS 9.

1 year later: Devices with an A5 chip got iOS 9.

I could say that Apple owned you guys.
