Been using the Magic Mouse for over a decade now.
I'm not an expert, but as far as ergonomics go, since I ditched Logitech mice for the Magic Mouse, my CTS (Carpal Tunnel Syndrome) episodes have decreased in intensity. Nowadays I switch it up with the Magic Trackpad 2 a lot too.

A bit off-topic, but regardless of what input device you use, posture is key.. if you make long hours behind your Mac, like I do, make sure your chair, desk, monitor height and distance are in check too. (The best mouse won't help you when sitting hunched over.)

What surfaces do you guys use your Magic Mouse on? Might give it another go.

And I recently got a felt desktop pad... MM works fine on it, too, but I am returning it as I prefer the black leather one (above).

The Magic Mouse is my favorite mouse, but people hold computer mice differently. The MM is a "finger mouse," meaning that you aren't supposed to touch it with your hand. The idea (behind finger mice generally) is that if you shake out your hand and hold your fingers down in the most relaxed possible position, they will hang well below your palm. If you hold the mouse between your thumb and ring finger, you can move it in a relaxed manner while resting your hand on your desk. It's great -- *if* that's how you like to hold your mouse. The problem for many is that they prefer to cup the mouse in their hand. This is demonstrably harder to control (you have to move your entire hand rather than just your fingers), but people who prefer this do just fine -- and it's hard to argue with such an individualized preference.

As for the right click, why not simply right click? It works great on the MM -- no two-fingered workaround required.

At the end, though, it's really a matter of preference. It's definitely worth trying out the MM, and many of us swear by them for a reason. But many others hold their hand differently and swear *at* them for a reason. For those, a hand mouse like the Logitech MX might be a better choice. It's ultimately up to you.

That’s exactly how I think you should use it. I feel when people complain about the Magic Mouse, often they really are just “holding it wrong”.

Picked up a Magic Mouse today. A bit dubious, given it's shape, but I'm sure I can adapt. I also use a Logitech G703 with my gaming desktop.

I got the space gray and it's definitely the sexiest mouse I've ever used.
