me. me only. only me. I've nothing 'dodgy' to hide, but i consider my ipad an extension of my soul. it's very personal and i store my life on it, both in business and personal terms. i'm also well aware I've a mini-mortgage in my hands when using it, so another reason i wont let anyone else touch it.

luckily my wife hasn't any 'tech' interest (unless we're both shopping or film viewing in bed on it), and i dont have any kids (again, thank the Lord ;) ). and if the relatives do come around and want to play they use the ipad2. if i ever need to demo on it or display stuff to others, it's me doing the button pressing and holding.

i used to want user account capabilities on the ipad for different users, but these days i dont see the point.

The Pencil is never more than inches from my hand, and the keyboard has my sandwich and coffee stains over it.

I dont consider myself mean or ocd, but where the ipad is concerned stay away!

I have a wife and two daughters...and I use my iPad Pro. VERY seldom so I allow one of my girls to use it, but they do once in a blue moon. 99% of the time I'm the only one to use my iPad Pro. My wife has an iPad Mini 2 and my girls share an iPad Mini 1. They do well with those.

Anyone in my family can use my iPad, provided I'm not using it. And I love my iPad, but it's just that I'm happy to share it too. Anymore though everyone has their own iDevice, so the situation doesn't come up to often.

My girlfriend and myself. She uses it for drawing and stuff, while its my main computing device.

Me and me alone. I barely trust myself, not trusting them. If anyone expressed interest, I'd buy them one.

Wife uses her iPhone and her laptop.

Daughter (15) uses her iPod touch and laptop.

Son (10) uses my iPhone about once a week for games and a hand me down laptop.

Me. I will occasionally let a grandchild touch it, but I've bought them all their own iPad minis, so that is a RARE occurrence.

I have a wife and two daughters, and all three use my iPad at any given time. Yes, all three have their own, but it seems mine is always close by for them to use.

Most of the time, just me. Everyone in the household has their own (my old iPads get passed down to family members when I upgrade). That said, I do wish iOS had a guest mode or at least the ability to set "Personal" and "Work" profiles.

Just me, and occasionally the voices, depending on how tired I am..

Of course my wife and daughter have their own iPad minis..

everyone in my family has a variety of their own stuff and no need to use anyone else's.

Since I live alone I am the only one who uses my iPad, when my parents visit, they all have their own devices. And I agree with the OP, my iPad is almost an extension of my soul, so I am not sure I would want my parents to use my iPad.

Anyone in my family use my iPad when I'm not using it. Well, come to think of it that's not true. It's actually the other way that I am using it when my family is not using it.

Mostly me. There are a few I let use it for specific things. Example I have a client, when on site, if one of their clients walks up talking about scheduling I will open it up to what they are discussing and hand it over to my client to discuss. Otherwise mostly me.

Only me and that's the way I like it. I don't like anyone else using my tech devices including my iPad, iPhone and MacBook Pro. I live with my parents who have their own MacBook Air and iPad Mini 1 to use. I don't trust anyone with my tech devices including family members.

In terms of "personal identity distance", I think an iPad is similar to a wallet for most people. One person owns it and maintains primary control, but there may be times when others are given access.

You wouldn't hand over your wallet to a stranger or even a co-worker, but your spouse is different (Hey, honey, do you have $20 to pay for the Girl Scout cookies? Look in my purse, dear. I just went to the bank.) However, you don't normally take your spouse's wallet to work with you.

Some people open their wallet to show others pictures of their grandchildren, while others zealously keep the contents to themselves (strictly for personal protection, ahem.)

There are times when the contents are shared with outsiders. (I'll pay with my Visa.) (Do you take Apple Pay?) (Can I see some ID, please?)

Just me and TheRealAlex. My wife and family use them if they want to or I am not using them.

There is one simple rule in my family: DONT EVER touch my iPhone/iPad/iPod/Mac ... Never ever ...

Mainly because my wife tend to drop things and the sticky finger of my son soon convert anything in an untouchable surface

No one, just me, same goes all of my devices.

If it's not me using it, no one is touching it.

I don't trust people to use my things, I've had bad experiences in the past when I allowed others to use my stuff.
