Wild

Ok, if you wanna go a little wild, how about this color?

Hemi Orange. Oh yeah!

I do like orange (or should we call it saffron?), but I associate that color with crossing-guard vests and traffic cones. Cingular uses orange well in its branding. It looks best with lots of white.

Hey how did you get the color on the laptop to match the color on the truck so closely? Can you do the same thing for ducati red and ducati yellow?

That orange *might* work as Monty said with a lot of white.

Actually, no, that particular orange doesn't work. Too light. Know which one WOULD work though - the Nissan orange. I've seen it on a Murano and also the 350z. Looks pretty sharp. It's a darker shade that is actually closer to a rust color. Not orange, not red, something in between. I'll see if I can find a pic.

That would be red-orange. :p

I know what you mean, though. The orange in the photo above is too bright and looks more like flourescent orange, something worn by hunters. A softer and darker orange would probably look better.

I personally would love to see a minor revision to the look of the iBook. Keep the polycarbonate casing but make it black instead of white, and change the color of the Apple backlight to graphite or aqua light blue. That would be wicked!

I'd also like to see a 15" iBook and, once and for all, a screen resolution greater than 1024x768 (come on Apple, this is 2005  ).

As for the Powerbooks, I don't mind the design as it fits the professional design scheme. Maybe offer that in black too. :p

What's your thoughts?
they cant change the ibook to black because white is the signiture of the 'I" line of Apple products. As for black pb, if you are going to offer a black pb youd have to offer a black pm

I'm definitely not liking the prospects of these brightly colored PowerBooks (even though they're all complete speculation and definitely not likely). They're too reminiscent of the first iBooks and iMacs and looks too much like a toy - the Fisher Price theme of WinXP. Apple's been trying to move to the more industrial-looking metal theme to get rid of the perception that Macs are merely toys; it is unlikely that they will go back and I'm glad for that.

Not necessarily. While they have established the idea of metal for pro products lately, back during the times of the G3 PowerBook, there was no such connection and I personally don't feel that one is not absolutely necessary. I wouldn't mind them going back to black though; I always liked the look of the Pismo, inasmuch as I love the aluminum on the newest PowerBooks.

I wonder what they'll be doing with that part of the family, now that the Mac mini is sporting the aluminumininium look.

I like black. I like red. Just not together. To me, it looks too Dracula-like. The U2 iPod looks good, but, I wasn't sure why they chose those two colors to use together.

Not really my fave either, so same ol' disclaimer, quick and crappy job, but here is a black PB with a few red accents, just to give a quick idea. Personally I don't care for it, but I don't like the U2 iPod either :p

I gotta try that! Could look pretty damn good.

Sounds a little odd perhaps, but the pink under a navy blue suit is quite stunning. Watch your tie selection though, it can wreck everything! :p

You're pretty good with that Photoshop. Red and black are too Halloweeny to me. You know, Dracula's cape and stuff.

How about a 24-karat gold laptop! It would be damn heavy, but, very shiny.

Well, one awesome thing about Apple going Intel is that they'll probably use the Centrino technologies, and make laptops even thinner!
They can call it the Mactrino. That'll get the Intel-haters' panties in a knot! :)

Well thanks for the compliment, but sadly I have little to no skill with PS. I have it for use in photo-touchups and post processing but the 'creative' stuff I am no good at. You would be amazed what you can learn in PS from a quick Google search or even from the built in help.

All the colored PB mocks I posted are just a stock image, then wanding segments and painting on color at given opacity to achieve a desired (sometimes) color for the image. It is very easy, quick job, but thanks anyway for the compliment :)

Hemi Orange

I was kind of joking when I posted that Hemi orange. Love it on a Ram pickup, hate it on a powerbook. Give me black, silver, or gunmetal grey and I'll be happy. And actually, I love the pickup, but I wouldn't buy one. Too flashy for me.
