Who went from the 5s to the 6 plus? Should I go for it?

I'd wait until the 6S if I were you.
The 'functional' differences between the 5s and the 6 are not that different aside from the screen.

I say since your phone is only a year old, and you're still in contract. Hold off.

Consider that apple will address some of the short comings of the IP6+ with the next release, so that will be beneficial. I guess, if you're intent on getting the IP6+, sell the 5s and buy the IP6+ full price.

I agree :) I actually got my 5s in June, so it's not even a year old  lol I think I'll wait for the 6s+ or whatever they call it! Lol! I mean, I really want that screen, but the 5s is still a very good phone, just small! Lol

Yeah I think Im gonna wait :)

I went from 5s to 6 and then decided 6 wasn't big enough so next day returned the 6 and exchanged for the 6+ and haven't regretted it in the slightest. 6+ does seem really HUGE at first.

I went from the 5S to the 6+. It is a very good update. I gave my 5S to my wife and it is just so much smaller and feels heavier. I'm very happy I've made the change.

Did the upgrade as well, simply because of the screen. It was just such a big improvement that I think warrants the extra dough, for the same, if not less performance. Meaning I feel like the 5s ran much smoother on everything, but that's also in part that it was on iOS 7.

I find myself using the phone way more for videos and games, which I basically did none before because the screen was too small. Using maps everyday while driving keeps 1-2 seconds off the screen each time I look at it, since it's easier to see. Using it in general has been the same, as I can't use it anymore than I already was. :D

Both my son and I moved from 5s to 6P. We are both very pleased. The screen is gorgeous and having use of landscape mode is great. 1080 HD screen is so gorgeous. We got space grey and black Apple leather case. Put Zagg glass on screen and using jet black background screen. The apps just pop out.

Second thing that is way impressive is battery life. I always had to charge at work in afternoon with 5s. Now I go all day and into evening, charge when going to sleep. It's very liberating not having to worry about running low on juice.

I prefer reduced transparency and reduced motion. Also turned off background updates and ads ID along with some other power saving tips. Last weekend I used the phone Friday, Saturday, and Sunday before charging. Had 37% remaining after 55 hours standby with 8 hrs usage. For us, the battery life alone makes the switch worth it.

The $cost isn't insignificant but we went with Next program so initial cost was just tax. Monthly payment is interest free and I intend to go with 6s Plus in fall continuing on with Next plan.

For us, the switch has been very satisfying. But we were happy with our 5s phones. But neither of us could go back now.

I went from an iPhone 5s due to the battery life. I prefer the the photos taken by the 5s but I love the screen of the 6+.

If you want to upgrade your phone, make sure you spent your time at Apple store and select which one that is comfortable to your hand. Many people bought 6+ and downgraded to iPhone 6.

Hey guys! I have a 5s and I'm considering going to a 6 Plus. I'm on contract, so I wanna see what Verizon can do for me. I'm wondering what you think about going from the 5s to the 6+? Good upgrade? It's not that much faster than the 5s and its still got the 1gb of RAM, but I WANT DAT SCREEN! Lol! But yeah, I'm a little tired of the 4 inch screen lol.

Also, can I even do it because the 5s is on contract? I just thought I'd have to pay a little up front and they'd add some money on my bill, and I could get it.

So, whatcha think? Would it be a good upgrade, or should I just wait?

I went from 5S to 6+. IMO it would depend on how much you have to pay out to get that upgrade, otherwise I'd wait.

Check to see if you're eligible for EDGE, you can get a 64gb iP6+ for $35.41/month. Not too much, if you can afford it.

I did and...

But seriously, the screen is gorgeous and as far as the size goes, you'll adjust in a day or so. I have relatively average size hands and I have no problems using it.

I'm very happy with the size of my 6+.

Yet I'd be lying if I said I like iOS 8.

Apple can do so much better than a bug ridden annoying OS. But the real problem is people don't seem to have a desire to hold Apple accountable. So they take the easy way out and "just ship it".

Apple's gone from a premium company with fine hardware and software to a mediocre company running on hype, fairy dust, and fat profits from those who think Apple's Magic.

Maybe I am running things below spec but I upgraded from 5 (on iOS 7) to 6+ (on iOS 8) and at least for me everything is working perfectly. I also read a lot about Yosemite but even that has been fine for me since PB 2. It just works. So am wondering what you mean (no pun intended).

BR,

Michel

Having spent just over $1,000 for my iPhone 6 Plus and $800 for my iPhone 6, models many claim the finest iPhones to date, perhaps the best smartphone of 2014, I find it terribly annoying that Safari crashes nearly every day.

When sending an SMS message immediately after composing and hitting send it locks up the phone.

When attempting to place the cursor in various websites to fill out a form or subscribe, the cursor fails to appear.

A complete hard reset is required to recover causing a loss of work if I'm writing and anyone of a number of text edit and writing apps I've used successfully for years hang, lock up, or display other annoyances.

I've owned every single new iPhone model from day one. I've been an Apple computer user since 1991, having bought countless new PowerBooks, MacBook models including Air and Pro some with retina and to date nothing has been as dreadful as iOS 8.x.x on my iPhone 6 and 6 Plus models.

Apple has replaced both, the replacements came equipped with their own set of issues, some the same some different. I'll wait for Apple to issue it's next update.

Fortunately my exemplary, reliable, fast and trouble free Nexus 6 and Nexus 5 models running Lollipop are wonderful primary smartphones. That's not a knock on Apple, just factual reporting.

I happen to enjoy both platforms, especially when Apple's phones work as advertised. :)
