I'm using a case for the first time after five years of iPhone use. I'm only doing it because of the camera lens. If the lens were flush, I wouldn't bother.

The first thing I did after activation was put my i6 in a case and slap on a screen protector. I got the Case-Mate Naked Tough case and screen protectors from eBay.

I was thinking about getting just a bumper but I didn't want to chance scratching up the back.

I got Ghost Armor on my screen as a screen protector, the clear one, it actually came out extremely nice , no case though, I am gonna pick up Apple care +, for 2 years its really worth it and overall cheaper then paying for insurance on your devices

I just got the $5 ultra thin ice blue case from monoprice until magpul comes out with new cases. It's really really thin and it doesn't even feel like the phone has any added bulk to it.

My case is black and yellow - makes it easy to spot in such a situation.

My wife bought an otter box defender for her 6 and she didn't wanted it because of the bulk but let me tell you the defender is thinner as the 6 is so it looks nice, well protected and easy to use with it.

My iPhone factory plastic didn't come off until I got my full body Zagg XD on and my Spigen Slim Armor.
