Based on what you know and you have the series 4 (like me) would you upgrade to the 5?
Based on what I hear I am sticking with my series 4 SS with cellular. Ceramic or titanium is not going to do it for me.

How bout you?

The new watch could just very well be new materials and not be a series 5. I’m happy with my series 4

Depends on the features they release. But most likely not. I imagine it’ll be mostly
(1) Zealous upgraders (in the non-negative sense of the word)
(2) Series 3 and below users

A few things "might" sway me, mostly is how much I can sell my S4 for, but a few things that might make me at least think about it are:
(1) SpO2 metering
(2) Better Battery Life
(3) Faster Processor (although I don't know why, my S4 is faster than I can hit the "keys")

Other than that, the software is what I look forward to, especially for the fitness applications, such as history, trends, etc.

I just sold my watch. Had the first generation watch. Plan on getting the new one that comes out soon. Hoping the 5 has some upgrades but no matter what it is, will be a nice upgrade from what I had!

There are a few things I upgrade upon new release, even if just a minor incremental update... iPhone, AirPods and Apple Watch. These are the three I carry on a daily basis and like to keep ‘em fresh.

I currently have an S4 aluminum w/ cellular. Didn’t see the need for a SS since I case all my tech but that titanium is intriguing and may sway me from casing it.

The battery on my Series 2 is struggling to last until bed time so I’m well in need of an upgrade this year. My wife’s Series 2 died unexpectedly a few months back and she bought a Series 4 which is a nice improvement over mine.

I’m a bit concerned the rumours for the Series 5 seem to suggest it won’t be a new Watch but more a materials introduction whatever that means? If it’s not a new Watch i’ll likely buy a series 4 and save some money. Hoping for the 5 though.

I'll be upgrading to the Series 5. I have a Series 3 now that the battery isn't great anymore, and other normal wear and tear. I'll be trading it in to Apple for a credit towards the new watch.

I upgraded to a S4 earlier this year and I felt it was a big jump from my previous S3 and I’m really happy with it. I don’t think the S5 will have any body changes, and I can’t think of other features that might sway me—it seems the biggest thing people are talking about is the potential for sleep tracking, which I have no interest in.

I’ll get mine through John Lewis as they offer a 2 year guarantee as opposed to Apples 1 year. It’s come in handy in the past as products seem more likely to fail in the second year and I give my watches a bashing.

I've got an Apple Watch "series 0" so I'll be first in line to upgrade. If I had anything newer, I'd probably wait another year for the rumored microLED version.

It all depends what it has to offer, this year has been very minimal with leaks/rumors for the watch, so it should be an actual surprise what it offers in September. Unless something substantially leaks with in the next week or so before the keynote, I don’t expect anything major this year, but it should be the one product that Apple has during the keynote that will have the most attention. Wearables is (And has been) on fire for Apple.

maybe me, but ive got a series 2 with a slightly cracked face. im holding out to see if im going 5 or reduced price 4

If the Series 5 is released I will either buy the new Hermes or the Ceramic version. I'm happy with my S4 though may just buy new Hermes bands if I don't like the Ceramic color option(s).

I have a Series 2 and the microLED rumors are the only thing keeping me from pulling the trigger on the 5. Still might, but I'm definitely hesitating.

I should never say "never". I have a 4th generation. The new one would have to be very compelling. Let us hope they don't change the watch band slot, so our old bands can still play on ;)

Then again the 4 should be on a decent sale price ...

Haha....yeah....I usually end up overthinking it. But my Series 2 is doing fine. It is sometimes slow to start a workout, and Siri is sometimes a little slow to process what I tell it, but overall, it's doing great, so unless the new watchOS destroys it, I'll probably try to hold out one more year, and then pull the trigger regardless of microLED or not

How do you find their customer service and honouring the additional warranty?

I am happy with my 4, but if the battery was better, I might bite. Battery has been pretty good, but I don't think as well as my 3, and I might go for that.

They have been good when it’s within that 2 year period, got my first iPad replaced at 14 months. My wife’s AW failed when it was 2 years and 2 months old and they made a bit of a cock up when we took it in. We got some incorrect info from the store but the long and short of it was they weren’t going to bend over backwards now it was out of warranty. They did say if it had failed within 24 months they would have replaced it. That’s still better than Apple which only cover for a year.
